Beautifully Illustrated RPG'S From AKA-Games
Beautiful art always stops me in my tracks, so it's no wonder I was drawn to AKA-Games. They are showing off their post apocalyptic RPG set in Japan as well as a Sci-Fi RPG in outer space. Both are beautifully illustrated. I'd totally walk off with Shayour, but their hard cover is only in French at the moment. They are talking the project to KS in September to fund translation and reprint.

Yeeeee Hawwww! It's Time To Hit the Saloon In Saloon Tycoon
Saloon Tycoon from Van Ryder Games looks like an absolute blast. It's a fast and fun board/card game, themed in the wild west. I was really impressed with their creative use of stacking the 2D pieces to create some 3D terrain on the board.

The Fantasy Flight Games Retail Area is one of the busiest areas each Gen Con, and rightfully so. If you're one that wants the instant gratification and the ginormous shopping bag that comes with your purchase, then it's worth the wait in line. I HAD to get the new Mansions of Madness game, so I took my lumps and waited in line & took pics inside so you could see what the fuss was about.
Fat Dragon Games Shows Off Their Range Of Awesome Terrain
Fat Dragon has a great assortment of terrain to set the perfect scene on your tables. They offer both papercraft terrain kits and modular resin kits and they both look amazing! At a quick glance, you can't even tell that some of those sets are paper!
Star Trek Ascendancy Is In Full Effect In the Halls
Gale Force Nine has loads of attention on Star Trek Ascendancy here at the con. The demo tables have been full non-stop. They also have added vinyl play mats as an add on purchase to really help create the sense of being in space. We picked up our preorders last night and can't wait to Crack it open and have a go.

Multiple posts of the mediocre crap from Privateer Press. Really. A massive trade show and that’s what is getting page space?
Sorry, we are trying to grab some of everything that we believe people want to see. Since Warmachine/Hordes just went through a big change and the miniatures were really nice. If there is something you would like us to check out please let us know and we will do our best.
No, you’re right. I probably came off a bit harsh. I just think that so many little things get lost in the shuffle that spending time with large manufacturers with huge advertising budgets seems a bit much. Like anybody would suddenly forget who PP was if they weren’t covered in this show.
To answer your question if you could find the GCT Studios booth they do a great little game called Bushido. I have been lobbying for a Bushido week ever since I discovered them on BOW a few years ago. They are almost completely unknown here in the states and I would love to see them get a little coverage as they have such a rich and wonderful little game.
I will make sure we get over there in the next 2 days. 🙂

GW don’t always do trade shows, but when they do it is their own
They are sharing a small space with Forge world. There is only one person that does interviews and he’s not been at the stand any of the times we’very been by. (And we’ve tried 3 times each day) We’ll keep trying.
Keep up the good work, and by hook and by crook. I WILL BE THERE NEXT TIME. Got over ruled this time – furniture first then time off for games
