How would you use Commanders in Blood & Plunder?

they have really incentiveized using names charters,
I have been following this game for a while looks the business.
Nice tactical options open up with the commanded. Loving it more and more.
Note to self: save a fortune point so my commander can hop into a new unit.
There so much more room for activities
very nice gameplay, you got to really use your command points well, seems that there is not much room for error
Great to see more tactical depth
Characters give the game… ummm… ‘character’?
I like the variety and custom tweaking… looking forward and not to painting the minis too
( want to paint… limited time available )
When a game is as young as this, narrow minatures options can lessen your tactical options but Commanders seem to really add on to the variation the nation factions bring… more reason to throw euros at the Kickstarter!
It’s nice to see more tactical depth.
This was great! A daily simple set of rules, yet the complexity of potential options. I also very much am resonating the feel for the period. I’m not bought into the game, leaning seriously that way and the new kickstarter is giving me a bit of analysis paralysis
Looking very good to me .
I like the thematic changes these commanders bring
I command thee to fetch me rum, wenches and loot, for the good of the country!
Upgraded commanders for me. More options are always good 😀
I think I’ll be spending the extra points to have an upgraded commander as well
Normally I’m not a fan of using big names in small battles but this period seems perfect. I like the idea of a famous commander sailing up to a town and raiding it.
This makes the game a lot faster and more brutal. Love how the characters effect the play-style of their armies.
Hmm, I like how you can progressively up the difficulty. This way I can play with people are not die hard miniature gamers but then play with my brother who likes a lot of detail and options. cool!
You have to go with the upgraded commanders at some point I think.
Really enjoying this week of content. You guys rock.
This has been a good week so far
Another option when it comes to list building is always nice.
Like the way commanders bring more tactical options to the table.
It looks to me like the upgraded commanders are necessary.
It gets another dimension, but remember not to jump with a cuttlas between your teeth!
I think this(different achetype of commander) is a nice mechanism to tune the different forces.
Yarr
very good gameplay
This is the end for you, you gutter crawling cur!
#insult sword fighting
They are pretty keen, to be honest. Hard not to build around them.
Would love to try this game out
I like the special commanders but think you need a larger game to use them.
Commanders affecting tactics works for me…
Upgraded Commander seems like a good choice!
love the synergies between the models
Characters seem a smart way to add variety to the game. Clever. Plus everyone loves making up flavoursome names 🙂
I’m going to record the names of every crew member, their deeds (and deaths) in an old leather journal, as a sort of ships log. Should be fun. This game really opens up that character-flavour element missing from so many table top games now.
Also, if you don’t pick me to win a prize: Walk the plank, ya scurvy dogs!
Thats cool, i think the commanders are pivotal, makes the gameplay more narrative too i think.
Using characters supports the narrative/historical side of the game very well.
I love the tactics of this game!
commanders are cool
Definitely would use the upgraded commander.
The extra durability (being able to leave a broken unit to join a neighbouring unit if you have the fortune token) makes it worth spending the points. Would rather have a better captain than an extra unit of men in play on the basis of what you’ve shown so far.
The commander upgrades seem incredibly impactful.
Interesting how the character characters can really change up things and add an additional flair to the game.
stonking table 🙂
Awesome preview… now I need more commanders
Really great way of introducing the game, factions, character, abilities and whatnot, it’s been pretty easy to follow through
seems really good to me. action, easy tactics to play, everything for fun and action
So “Commanders” become almost un-kill able, now the game`s really become interesting.
I think character commanders are going to be where the game gets a lot of its flavour and replayability
that upgraded commander rule is very unique in gaming.
Such a great game. Backed the first KS and went all in on this one also.
I like the nuances commanders provide.
I like that within the same nation you can have different playstyle by changing the leader.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrr! Shiver me timbers!
Using the named characters just adds so much additional flavour to the game. Definitely makes skirmish games feel epic.
I particularly enjoy the historical commanders!
I’ve learned by experience to keep a fortune point just in case your commander needs to do a runner!
Hard to have an opinion on these characters without having tried a game yet, seems like they’re best left for later games.
Nice
Great content this week, loving it.
With the multi player games coming in newer version, I wonder if the sides would have to split the force to be one with a commander and one without, or would this allow two commanders.
Did someone say “comment to win”?
I can’t wait for legendary commanders like Blackbeard and Calico Jack!
The more I see and hear about this game the more I am liking this game
Such a great game, and so glad you guys have made all of these informative videos
Definitely seems worth it to run more experienced captains.
