Flames of War 4th Ed: Learning Afrika Korps
August 23, 2017 by dignity
In our previous episode we learned the basics of the new 4th edition of Flames of War dueling it off in the sands of El Alamein.
In this episode Justin's going to be learning some more advanced rules from Rommel's Afrika Korps. The German Afrika Korps is a hard fighting force of tough verteran troops who have won many battles, their Panzer III and IV tanks outclass the British tanks faced.
The general rule of Afrika Korps is "few men, many weapons".

A great video, @dignity , Mike, and Igor – that brings back a lot of great memories of the FoW Boot Camp. 😀
Looking at the campaign we ran over the course of that weekend, one trend we readily identified was how badly the German players were doing at first. In round one of the campaign game the Germans lost 0-6. In round two they lost 2-5. In round three they finally started to turn it around 5-4, and tied round four 3.5-3.5 … and in the last mega game the German won pretty seriously.
So the general trend was the German players did better as the weekend progressed.
I think a big part of this was because OF THESE SPECIAL RULES. The German DAK player really has to be on top of his game and make the best use of these DAK special rules if he wants to make the most of the points built into his army.
Thus, the German players at the boot camp, as they learned to make better use of the rules presented in this video, rapidly improved their performance.
Otherwise it comes down to a crush of numbers and the British will usually win those.
a fabulous video guys.
