Weekender: FoW Vietnam & New Raging Heroes’ Kickstarter!
April 4, 2015 by warzan
We dive into this Easter Weekender by checking out the thoroughly unthematic look at World War II! As well as checking out an awesome Autoblinda Fabio, we have a look at Oriskany's World War 2.5 package that came in the mail.
We then move forward in time and check out the Brown Water Navy supplement for Flames of War which delves into the river based warfare of Vietnam.
Empress Miniatures have also been over to show off some of their miniatures and we filmed some cool unboxings with them which you'll be able to check out soon. The Raging Heroes Kickstarter is also powering on with some insane looking armies to pick up for Sci-Fi and Fantasy.
You can check out the Q&A we did with Raging Heroes Art Director Benoît Guerville HERE.
Also make sure you keep an ear to the ground to see if you won the AdeptiCon Relic Knights prizes, the Batman Rulebooks AND the announcement that the Battlezone Challenge winner will be chosen soon!
Yes, we did remember!

Happy Saturday!
Sam may be interested in the fact that the armament sales for the USA, alone, for 2010, was $21.4 billion and in 2011, $66.3 billion, more than tripled. Does this give any indication of the global political landscape becoming ‘homogenised’? There may not be a global war at the moment, but there are currently more people today directly affected by conflicts throughout the world, than at any other time in history! Sobering?
Thanks for the correction that is chilling.
Yeah Weekend!!!! Thanks guys!
Even better…..bank holiday weekender!
Sam has probably not seen Platoon because he is still a young chap?
Great show as always!! I am a girl and I want the bad ass girl box set 😀
I loved the Stryker model. My brother was with the 520th Stryker Brigade and did two tours in Iraq. They were called “The Ghost Machine” because they were quick, quiet and fast.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s XLBS
I <3 Empress' Spanish Civil War range. One of the few things that would drag me into the 20th century.
They do make some cool minis
Absolutely. My SCW project is one of a multitude at the pipedream stage, but it’s one of the most likely to progress to the “spend money and time” stage.
Have you seen the new SCW Painting War magazine that’s coming? Might help the old inspiration a bit!
I have not.
Toughest Girls in the Galaxy is so cool, and badass.
Loved ‘nam week are we going to get more? I went black horse for ‘nam.
Raging Heroes look good again, I just spent my money on WWX unfortunately.
Raging Heroes still looks like it says Boginshebolt to me.
Feels like Sunday already!
Another bumper episode!
Before I carry on watching…
Those ads are really freaking annoying. I don’t care how much time/passion/whatever went into them. Please just stop.
Just finished watching. The rest of the show was brilliant. Love the tanks. And really regret not taking part in the original Raging Hero KS.
Toughest Girls of the Galaxy – great looking minis.
Empress mimiatures – very nice!
Stryker MGS – lots of YouTube footage – go look for yourself
Only thing John got incorrect is it uses the 105mm gun rather than 120mm.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1128_Mobile_Gun_System
Drat! It’s the US version of the L7! *facepalm* Good call!
And the MGS can fire a full broadside without tipping over. This does give the vehicle a good rocking but it’s not a problem except for target reacquisition. Plenty of YouTube videos of it firing in Iraq to see this for yourself.
There was certainly some controversy about this in the early days – allegedly doctored images of the prototype being used in the promotional material (the un-doctored images surfacing later with steel stabilizer in place).
Having said all that, an online search suggests that there seems to have been a significant but vocal minority who wanted the whole Stryker programme dropped. The systems early years seemed to be plagued by some pretty dodgy propaganda from all sides!
Here is a good look,
http://youtu.be/fBHnNSURLEA
And here is a good one of it firing on the move over uneven terrain. Forward to about 2mins in. Note that modern gun stabilization is quite amazing.
http://youtu.be/joV4nY23ofE
And one last broadside,
http://youtu.be/0g-Wk3FZL6I
Damn… listening to John talking about the Stryker and Warrior was painful… Warrior is an IFV not APC (important difference – APCs are supposed to deliver infantry and stay back, IFVs to go with the infantry and support it in combat). Stryker MGS has a variant of 105mm cannon from M60, not 120mm from M1A1… Maybe they are not big mistakes for a gamer, but isn’t he supposed to be the resident tank expert? 😉
I would in John’s defence say I assumed he was a WW2 (immediate post ww2) tank expert… and is the Stryker a tank??
“Just a couple of quick clarifications; the Warrior is an IFV rather than an APC as it supports the infantry in combat, and the Stryker MGS has a 105mm cannon from the M60 rather than the 120mm from the M1A1.”
It’s not a urinating contest. We are allowed to be helpful and informative.
Awesome show guys – and a huge surprise!
I’ll take full responsibility for any factual errors on John’s behalf! Let’s put it down to lots of travel and not enough coffee 🙂
If I discovered one thing on my visit, it’s that John has a damn fine broad knowledge of military vehicles … to the point he can even fix the things.
I blame the modern armour designers. Too many guns, too many variants, too many classifications! NATO sort yourselves out man!
Yes the IFV/APC argument is a common one. Because both class-types fit the vehicles. I don’t think it’s wrong to class them as either or both. Both types carry infantry, and to an extent, both can stay and provide cover. Heck, even FV432 and M113 carried machine guns and were modified in the field to suit certain situations.
This probably isn’t “correct” or “official,” but I usually call WHEELED vehicles “infantry carriers” and TRACKED vehicles “APCs”.
Of course, that doesn’t always work. The US M2 Bradley is officially an APC, while the M3 variant was an “IFV.” Both, of course, are tracked. 😀
You my friend should have 1 million karma for your contribution to BoW 🙂
Thanks, @manpug ! 😀
And to make things just that little bit more ridonculius I believe technically the Stryker is classed as an ICV in the U.S. ( Infantry CarriervVehicle).
I can start to sympathise with folk that just call everything with a gun a tank! 🙂
Right, @keitha – or people who just say “AFV” and be done with it. 😀
Happy Saturday guys. Another great show and loving the new Hub adverts.
toughest girls of the galaxy are cool but did anyone notice the similarity to warzan and harry???happy sitting down with a silly grin all over his face
Yes the smiles are similar, but I think any male gamer surrounded by those babes would have the same silly grin on their faces.
Oh yes! I skipped TGG kickstarter but I will definately add more raging heroes miniatures to my existing collection.
Great show guys! I would have liked to see the Jailbirds next to the APC with a tankgun on it. Can imagine those in a post-apocalyptic setting with zombies running around them.
Absolutely fabulous!
Glad to see Empress getting the word out about their stuff – in addition to their USMC I picked up from the KS that was fulfilled last year I have a US Army Stryker rifle platoon that just needs one more Stryker and an MGS (company level asset) to round them out which I will hopefully collect from then at Salute. The only problem is, I wanted to paint them up as a National Guard unit so that they can fight some zombies or aliens on their home turf. The only problem is my need to root things in reality – the only Stryker brigade in the National Guard is the 56th SBCT and for reasons of.. well.. policy, their Strykers will be green rather than tan and they won’t be the double V hull design. The latter doesn’t matter so much since the undead tend not to use explosives, but I really don’t want to paint any more green tanks lol
Urgh, wish I could edit to fix the repetition..
It would be nice to be able to edit posts. I know you can in the forums, but for some reason you can’t in the articles.
need holly on the screen behind you interacting with the show ……would be awesome guys
nice weekender 🙂 Raging heroes are making a sci-fi war game. But havent given out much detail yet. Only that they are working on it.
Happy saturday!
Good show guys, really enjoyed it.
I checked out the Raging Heroes Kickstarter, if I wasn’t a poor student, I would be rolling in those miniatures.
I really want to use some of the mini’s from the first kickstarter as HVT’s for Infinity!
The Toughest Girls are cool 🙂
damn i hate most of the HH novels then i will rather have codex fluff
as always great show
the new mechanicus minis are making me think about getting back into 40k and now i want that tech priestess model you guys were showing off
Anno my Saturday mornings were awesome! After I became a Backstage member, my Sunday mornings were awesome as well! Keep the lights on guys!
Ok that Stryker would make great dressing for my Infinity board… must resist!
Good show, happy Easter!
Raging heroes certainly make some nice figures.
Holiday weekender
Good show 🙂
Really interested in the brown water stuff for Vietnam…Some of the best naval games I have played are riverine actions.
I am in on the tgg2. Can’t wait. Good show guys. Will be looking forward to tomorrow.
So many pinks, so few hippos.
those girls are excellent
Happy Saturday
the toughest girls look so good very tank girl !
OK, I have a problem with BOW Holly…. no offence intended to the lady doing the voice over but it sounds waaay too much like the babble you get from a car insurance seller, or the adverts on TV where they are trying to say what would take a normal person 1 minute, only they are attempting it in the space of 15 seconds. It’s like Chas & Dave – ‘Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit, rabbit, rabbit, rabbit.’ Chill out, slow down and make it more groovy. More banter, less babble. Just a thought.
Just got back from the Raging Heroes kickstarter and its awsome, lovin it.
As usual another great show.
Thanks Guys
I’m commenting for a chance to win.
Love the hubs, never noticed them
Time to let Justin out from solitary
Holly sounds great, much better than any of you scary lads 😛
world war 2.5 looks awesome i did read it and found it could make an excellent bolt action game.
I want a Harry the Hippo you can keep the other minis 😛 🙂
Love the raging heroes minis, got my eyes set on getting some of them for sure
Another good show for a relaxing Saturday morning 🙂
Next week Christian may even speak or is he a secret backstage only leprechaun. Fantastic to see a group of gamers compiling all the weeks news and covering rules sets I might not have looked at. Also assuming the Joker edition of BMG is being announced tomorrow… fingers, toes, knees, elbows crossed.
Kudos to Oriskansy.
One of these days i’ve got to win a prize
This message is for Warren: I love how the Titan crew out of the 1993 novel by Ian Watson called “Space Marine”. I fell in love with the non-space marines from his depiction of them.
Couldn’t recommend this book more, take a look when ya have the time. You wont regret it, plus its Old Skool..lol
Great show, like Holly, keep up the good work
The Toughest Girls are solid, They would fir my Infinity armies well. They could fit most sci-fi games.
Great Weekender!
TGG was the first KS I backed and have loved what I’ve received from them so far.
Empress minis look like they may be cool enough to get me into “historical” gaming.
Thanks also, for reading material tips the new Mechanicus is amazing and refreshing to see GW doing something relatively unexpected.
Such an exciting for the industry.
love the raging heroes models… and now I want those modern tanks… even the stryker MGS
That hippo is lovely.
Want those toughest girls Minis! Great show guys…
you were talking about not seeing combat nuns in fantasy, what about the Basilean Sisterhood models? you can make an entire army of them.
Great show peeps.
@oriskany has done an amazing job with that boxset game! It really does look like a product you could buy – the counters and campaign map are especially impressive and look very good. I also like the realism of this – as mentioned before other alternate WW2 games tend to add SF or fantasy elements but what I like about this is it that it takes a more realistic turn that makes it more interesting to me, personally.
Thanks, sir! 😀
Love the Empress miniature vehicles. Really nice. Did not know they did these vehicles.
Is the TGG set worth it just for the Hippo? Yes, he’s perfect for an RPG I’m running, might fit one or two of the girls in too. Hippo’s a must-have.
TGG concept designs are fantastic
great weekender guys, I want the toughest girls in the galaxy for my army
happy week end ^^
Great show lads
REALLY don’t like the hub intro guys
Nice empress vehicules, I have the humve painted, and its lovely!
Gotta love Harry the Hippo. 😀
My check book doesn’t like you guys at ALL. You make it so hard to be financially responsible with showing off all those cool minis.
My wife can’t get enough of the Lust elves. She especially loves the centaurs.
Me I like the sisters knights of the chalice.. I hope they unlock
Oh boy, I wish I won that Jailbirds box set!
Happy Saturday peeps! Lots of good stuff on todays show – those Empress minis are really nice! Can anyone recommend a good modern/near future set of rules?
Also, I’m kinda gutted that the WWX and Deadzone kickstarters have cleaned me out this month or I’d be all over the Raging Heroes KS too…
You could look at Skirmish Sang in or Force on Force. Both very solid.
Harry the Hippo is Awesome! i really like the look of the brown water Navy.
Where are the girls? Are there no female gamers among the Beasts of War crew?
We have Gianna and Dawn in the states and Dani has reacentlu been imputing into the UK writing team 🙂
We don’t have enough, we want more and welcome any females who would like to get involved 🙂
As Warren stated there is Dawn and I and several others such as Dani, Gladesrunner, Tanya among others. We are here and Warren and the rest of the gang have been awesome.
We here, we just tend to let the boys have their on air man cave 🙂 If they let too many of us Dames of Games (trade mark to Gianna and Dawn) into the studio, not only would we kick their buts at any game they choose, but we might be tempted to reorganize 😉
I am here as a member 😀 Dragged into gaming by my Northern Irish Husband…yes I imported him lol
Great show as always, is Nephahrya part of the current kickstarter or was she an exclusive from the previous kickstarter as I can’t seem to find her on the web site
She will be available at retail 🙂
It is worth it just for the hippo!!! Go HARRY! Go HARRY!!
I should really sign up for backstage…
Damn for being a student though.
Yes, but you are a student with great taste in icon’s! Don’t blink or you might miss something cool on the sight 😉
Yes Warren, you’re right, the documentary is one sided. That’s because it tells the story from C company’s point of view only so it is supposed to be one sided. The reason why I pointed it out to you is because it shows good images and tactics on the US side and it really links to the new expansion coming soon from Battlefront. I agree with you about the rest anyway…
Thanks for the coverage in the show, I really love the weekender! Ciao.
Fabio
Like I said I loved the technical aspects of the show, and it has got me in the mood for the next expansion 🙂
great show guys
Very professional voice work. Sounded really good.
Hurrah! 100 Karma.
Love the “tech priestess”.
awesome show again cant wait for xlbs
Having backed WWX more than I probably should have, I can’t do another but the TGG look fantastic!
nice episode
i had earlier this week managed to NOT pledge fot those Gals of war mini’s. I had been very proud of my impulse control. The weekeneder has torn that control to ribbons and I’ll be visiting the kickstarter page again.
Toughest girls of the Galaxy for the win.
I heard the striker needed to let the air out of its tires to be air transported.
I think I won a Batman book? 😀
Good show as usual but one comment on the new hubs trailers. They are decent ads, but at the rate they are being played I’m going to be sick of them by the end of this weekend! Rather than playing them in pairs, how about plugging one hub at a time?
I actually like the Holly promos. Then again, I’ve always had a weakness for ladies with a British accent. Suffice it to say I love watching James Bond movies. Sometimes I just close my eyes and listen to the ladies say: “Oooh, James.” 😀
I bet that is your ringtone 😉
Sadly, my better half @gladesrunner would probably smash my phone with a hammer. 😀
Thanks guys….now I have to go spend all my money on the Raging Heroes KS and at Empress Miniatures. Thanks.
Happy Saturday – and you are nasty people. I’d forgotten about Empress ‘Moderns’, as I have the general itch to build a People’s Liberation Army force (well possibly a platoon) as an on-going problem/project.
Please send me Harry the hippo . It will be the start for my daughter to start painting minis..
Looking into backing the latest raging heroes, I backed the last one and have been very very pleased with how they have looked.
So many high quality minis and models out there now.
Great show as always guys.
Great vid, I might have to pledge that Toughest Girls KS.
THONG?! I’d like to officially post in front of everyone that the box in which the WW2.5 set came in never contained any lingerie . . . sadly. 😀 Oh, and my better half, BoW Backstager @gladesrunner , takes sharp exception to the notion that any thongs I would buy for her would be “big.” 😀 So whether we’ve “assigned” her a grossly incorrect size . . . or I’ve been buying lingerie for someone else . . . I’m in trouble either way.
Seriously though, guys, thanks for the big shout-out. And I encourage anyone who’s interested in @chrisg ‘s “Worldwide D-Day Challenge” (WWDDC) to please head over to Chris’ thread and see if you’d be interested in participating in the project.
http://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/historical-games/forum/topic/world-wide-d-day-challenge-1/
The offending thing statement was about my size.
Love me a good thong! Just so long as it doesn’t ride to far up the back 😉
TMI?
No offense taken 😉 Just wondering what kind lingerie they have in the UK that they smell like the black spray paint he used to recover the box?
cheap rubber S&M or M&S it will be one of them? Lol
Of course, @warzan . We were totally kidding. 🙂 In all honesty, it’s just a decorative box from a craft store, modified and painted with some printed label sheets for the graphics.
@oriskany your boxed game looks brilliant may download it to play? still to play the starwars game will have to mug the Doctor for the tardis may get the time to then?
It’s available to backstagers at the following link: http://www.beastsofwar.com/modern-warfare/world-war-2/world-war-25-gaming-alternate-history-finale/
WW 2.5 It doesn’t take that long to play, we play-tested the 5-turn option in about 3 hours.
you should try playing against my brother could easily take 3 days.
Note, he didn’t say who’s thong it was….
BTW, I’m assuming the box is properly sized to Avalon Hill Bookcase standards.
But of course! As a devout Avalon Hill acolyte, @oriskany could do no less.
As close as I could get, @bigterp – without actually using one of my AH boxes (I actually considered that solution). But once I got the book spiral-bound, it would no longer comfortably fit in a “standard” 8 1/2 x 11 document box. This also allowed me to get the map printed at slightly larger than original scale, to give a little extra “elbow room” in the hexes for counters and resource tokens.
Another nice show guys!
I want some jailbirds….wait that sounds wrong
One documentary that might help with the Vietnam War is the superlative “Battlefield: Vietnam.” It’s made up of twelve 1-hour parts, so it’s quite a lot . . . but using the episode titles you can focus in on specific facets you’re interested in.
As the previous WW2 “Battlefield” series, the OBJECTIVITY from BOTH SIDES is a major selling point. It talks a great deal about the NVA/PAVN and the VietCong/NLF (National Liberation Front), the bitter political conflicts between these two “factions” of the Communist war effort, the background of their founders, political leaders, and military commanders, etc.
Of course, it’s not perfect. It doesn’t talk very much about the US allies (Australians, etc) that also participated in the war, and since covers the whole 1954-1975 war in just 12 hours, it stays relatively high-level and doesn’t get down into the “human” stories. However, it gets pretty detailed, complete with animated maps, into the tactics, operations, and strategy of the war.
One more flaw, it has no “Tiger Blood,” unfortunately. 😀
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQdFGr7NQ4o&index=1&list=PLCABD020D6B200061
Great episode. I think we will need an empty suitcase to bring back all the awesome stuff I want to get at Salute. The Empress vehicles will be finding it’s way for a modern rule set Skirmish Sangin
Warren I am concerned that you and the guys know what new lingerie smells like…. have you all been shopping at AnnSummers again?
Damn. Now I have to go and see a couple of episodes of Red Dwarf. Great show guys
Great show as always. I can’t wait to see the next FOW FTW seies.
Definitely backed TGG
Happy Saturday and what a show! Thanks Guys!
Great show. I had never heard of Empress but I’ve already placed an order. Great stuff.
happy Saturday xxx
I really wish GW made a proper Sisters of Battle release..
TTG models are amazing, I have the kurganova sisters set.
Happy Saturday! Off to play Batman Mini’s game against my lovely wife!
I love those Stryker and HMMWV models. My last unit before retiring was a Stryker BDE. And yes Warren, the MGS does exist, and we do use it.
Great show guys, that nam stuff looks awesome, would love that set see U for XLBS
Empress Models do some great stuff!!!! Awesome find, thanks guys.
I just checked out the kickstarter, apparently you can order in either metal or spun resin, perhaps I am being thick but why would you produce to moulds for the same item, or are you able to use the same for both metal and resin ?
Those tanks look awesome! going to have to check out the website. Looking forward to the XLBS
If you want to see a more rounded view by an American on the Vietnam War I would strongly recommend:
the perfect war techno war in vietnam
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFvcuuS5eUI
Happy weekend guys 🙂
The Empress models look great. I’d love to see a nice modern 28mm game.
great show love the tanks/AVs the striker type is a common AV around the world as is almost as good as a tank with a fraction of the running/maintenance costs.
I love this show. I am going to look into getting in on the TGotG KS…
The new interstitials came as a surprise. When are you guys going to do a show on BBC? 😉
I’m in on the Toughest Girls kickstarter. Some new nuns for my Inquisitor gang and some Lust Elves to expand my Daemon army. But who needs an excuse. These models are too amazing to miss out on.
I just want Harry
Those mini’s look amazing… would be amazing to win those and paint them up. Keep up the good work BoW.
Happy holiday! TGG much more interesting than mil vehicles, had 14 years of that, hard as girlies wiv attitude now please.
had to help my mate at Cleethopres Comic Con looking after his guests the red dwarf crew today , but raced home for my weekender happy saturday
Holly is a blast to listen too, I fee hobbyl energized BZZZZZ
Let those 3 tough girls come! XD
you go girls!
very nice work guys.
Think I still prefer the old female Holly ……and Kryten, Rimmer & Cat references to boot, sweet!
Thoroughly enjoyed that guys!! Woooo, mechanicus!!!
Another good show
Nice job on the new intros.
Another great weekender, loved the Red Dwarf references
Wow, those RGG models are amazing.
Great show guys, loving the new ad-breaks 😉
Tanks..More Tanks
I have backed both the Raging Heroes Kickstarters. Some amazing stuff!
Great show guys. Those modern tanks looks really nice and with the complexety even I could build. I have been curious of the more modern skirmish systems so please do a review of Osprey and maybe Sanguin skirmish? Might be more of them out there. Could be a good segment to go through a few of the different system and highlight the differences.
And please send me thouse girls. They look too good to be true! PLease please please 🙂
Happy weekend another great show. I thought that the female A.I. voice on Red Dwarf was called “Hilly”. Was not “Holly” the male voice?
Probably got that wrong but as my kids keep telling me “you’re getting old DAD!”
I really like the looks of the Empress modern armour! And the Toughest Girls of the Galaxy models are really nice. I wish them a lot of success.
Oh god, Harry looks so cool. No idea how Id use him but i need him
I think I’m about to break my credit card on those minis
Great show again, guys. I’m keen to paint up a Stryker, even if I don’t play any present-day wargames…
I kinda want a Stryker to paint up as a Mass Effect Hammerhead tank. – I’m not even sure I’d need to sci-fi it at all?
Thanks for the show guys! See you next week.
Whoo Hooo!!!!!! Weekender!!!!!!!
Love the Toughest Girls Minis, they look cool, mean and not are not under dressedl .lol
Kaboom, I would like those minis
Will the TGG include a sculpt of Holly? Will we ever get to see her on screen?
Another great show, and the Raging Heroes stuff looks super creepy; love it.
Another great weekender. The Brown Water Navy stuff looks brilliant, though it’s another damn army to collect :-p
If you like near future stuff Warren, you would have loved the RPG called Twilight 2000 by GDW …. role playing in post WWIII Europe.
Yes, I used to play it many years ago and it was fun! I still have my copy somewhere…
I love the Empress stuff, I picked up the PLA from last years Kick Starter, and I have sme of the US as well. I had a look at then vehicles and Im definately going to pick up a few bits and bobs… I wouldn’t normally play modern, mainly cause I don’t really like to play conflicts that are current, but my plan is to play an alternative future modern. A conflict set a few years from now, such as a Civil War in China and the fall of communism.
At last, bad ass female characters that are worth taking into battle. My sisters army will never be the same again !!!
I never thought the Italians would be running away as fast as the advance, or that any one would strap such over sized weapons to real life vehicles.
Thank you gentlemen, I have learnt something this day
That Jailbirds set is awesome! I must have them!! 🙂
Nice to see some TGG1 in the flesh, as it were. Definitely going to pledge on TGG2 now.
The term you were looking for about the bias of the documentary was ethnocentric.
Always helps waking up for work whilst watching the weekender 🙂 Cheers guys
Great show as always guys. Too bad I didn’t win the Batman rulebook, but there’s always a new chance on the XLBS *runs off to check*
I want to win Harry
really enjoyed the show and the prize looks great would love to paint them
What better way of recovering from a stag day enduced hangover than watching BOW. And I still get to watch Sunday’s XLBS too! Woohoo!
kicking myself for passing on their first kickstarter.
Brown water navy seems interesting.
Another good show.
Will having tough arsed girls instead of pin-ups with guns, bring more females into the hobby ?
Nope but continued variety will certainly not hurt I would imagine 🙂
Empress miniatures make a really nice product. I have purchased several things from them in the past.
The Raging Hero’s Stuff looks really nice. It is good to have realistic female figures.
Great show as usual! Holly makes for a pleasant change.
I love the Jailbirds box set, I may have to look into The Toughest Girls in the Galaxy
Fun show as always!
There are too many awesome minis out now. I love me some jailbirds. I especially like the tank girl.
That WW2.5 box looks totally awesome. Congratulations @oriskany I must find and read the original article series!
sounds like you guys should just put Oriskany on your payroll!
Thanks, @angelicdespot and @wcfree !
those minis look nice
It was very interesting to see those modern-day tank models.
Great show again peeps. I have had to drag myself away from that Raging Heroes Kickstarter several times now (as the money has already been spent on Infinity) but the stuff is so so nice. Obviously themed heavily on a certain universe set in an age of warhammers these will be very nice additions to peoples armies. Certainly meeting a demand for Sisters of Battle collectors and those that preferred the old Juan Diaz Daemonettes (they were perfect).
3 days to resist! *buries head in Arena Rex minis*
Sexy Jailbirds!
Great show guys!
Great weekender guys, love Raging Heroes miniatures, said it before the ones I have of theirs literally have no mould lines. I think they might have to be my second kickstarter.
The toughest girls are some of the best minus I’ve ever seen.
Another good show
That’s not how i remember “Prisoner Cell Block H” or “Within These Walls” …….ah…….. Googie Withers…..
I really appreciate what Raging Heroes do.
Source material for Mad Nurse Bernadette:
Great show as always, and love Hollie ¿Holly? as BoW voice.
Keep the good work!!
enjoyed the show as usual. Great to see one of my friends picking up one of the prizes too 🙂
With regards the camo pattern on that italian vehicle towards the start of the show you should get back in touch with Brian at Anarchy Models. If one of his existing HD Camo stencils doesnt deliver what you want you could always ask him to make you a custom one that matches your pic.
Dem floating things look cool sarge….
Ill take mine with the flame thrower
Massively impressed by the Toughest Girls minis – that hippo is just superb! 😀
After seeing their Jail Bird Mini’s i checked their site out and put a few lots of figures on the old wish list. But then went and bought 80 quid of terrain off another site and blew my entire fortnightly miniature fund.
Great show. I’m sooooo looking forward to trying WW 2.5 out! As Warren said, Oriskany’s home built games are definitely professional level. I’ve been playing them a long time, and they only get better and better.
Harry the hippo is reidculiously cute.
Empress Miniatures looking great
Great show guys. Good to know there will be more Flames of war for win, best show to motivade me to paint the last of my flames of war.
And maybe its time to take a look at vietnam too.
The toughest girls have some fantastic models, cant wait to see an unboxing.
The tanks/apc or whatever they are called looks amazing, cant wait to see more of Empress models
Looking forward to more Flames of War for the win. I don’t play but enjoy the video series. Hoping that the next season will include some demo games.
the Empress stuff is superb, been using it for ages now,
If your looking for a multi scale system check out 3rd Generation Warfare,
https://www.facebook.com/pages/3rd-Generation-Warfare/317872158379151?fref=ts
or some hardcore black hawk down firefights then spectre is your point of call…
As a comment about the Vietnam War and areas to look at regarding geopolitical balance. The general view is a few plucky guys with tanks, airplanes, attack and transport helicopters..(Americans), against a few plucky fighters with AK-47 and hit and run tactics (Vietcong).
Whilst in-country as it was called with its bambo fields and overgrown jungle like forests were much of a staple.
It should also be remembered that much of the fighting involved an extensive airwar with the Americans essentially trying to do what the Germans did to the UK during WW2. North Vietnam also had access to planes as technologically advanced in their day as the Americans employing heat seeking missiles etc.
There was also a lot of fighting done on and off by the South and North Vietnamese armies, it was generally the ineffective South had to rely on American troops (and Australians and New Zealand forces) and support or war would probably have been over in maybe 2 years.
During the Tet offensive some fighting happened in cities and the North Vietnamese Army were also active throughout the War.
I really appreciate the Red Dwarf reference! Thanks guys!
Ahh, the toughest girls in the galaxy are cool. Remind me of Necromunda Escher girls. The “Imperial guard” looking gals would be sweet add ons to any Imperial army. Oy! Get Sam in front of a copy of Platoon and let him watch a good movie. If Bolt Action (or anyone else) would do a 28mm Vietnam, I would throw bags of money at them. I may have to settle for FoW Vietnam. Oh, to do that the beach attack from Apocalypse Now with tons of Hueys and choppers, it shivers me spine.
The TGG artwork is amazing. My favourite piece would have to be the Centaurs for the Lust Elves.
This was fun to watch. Long time since the last time I got to see the entire video.
Great show, loved the empress modern warfare vehicles not much around in this scale
Battlefield did a Vietnam season 12 eps, Series 3, each episode was an hour long. great show Battlefield

My first impression of “Holly” was “What the… is this? BoW are doing proper ads now?”
Well what can I say apart from the fact that it was a great show. Hmmm, oh I know. Why is everybody saying Mechanicus instead of Mechanicum? 😉
Nice show, as always
I think I am one of the few people who loved the Tank Girl movie. The Toughest Girls are spot on for that universe.
