My brother in law who’s a viologist said that the vaccine reduces the chance of catching the virus and if you do catch it limits the symptoms, so that you’re less likely to end up in hospital but it’s not 100%.

He also said that the longer it’s circulating within the community then there is a greater chance that a variant develops that the vaccine either doesn’t work against or becomes less effective.

In regards to beng infectious he said you’d still be infectious to others but at a reduced capacity.
