@grantinvanman nah, not really. You can get some fiddly bits now and then, but generally Gunpla – especially more recent kits -are intended to be builder-friendly. And I’ve not done anything beyond straight builds on mine. No panel lining, no glue, no paint.  I do tend to stick around the High Grade 1/144 end of the pool, but they still get good results. And the Real Grades exist for a more nuanced build.

If you are intimidated though, I recommend grabbing yourself an Entry Grade kit (they come in RX-78-2, Nu and Strike Gundam flavours) and give that a go
