@limburger yes, internal wiring is extra hard. It needs to be able to withstand some loads but of course the ageing on the plastic around the cable does not help. At 60+ years you might want to think about replacing the wiring and the fuses. And yes, propper copper will get expensive fast. Not sure how that work in you country but here we would need to have it checked by a Master in electrics after we’ve done the rewiring.
