Pledge: no pledge. I failed myself to many times the last weeks.

Answer: This is a long’ish one.

So I feel I need to differentiate the various forms I like and use. Most (if not all) had been mentioned on the XLBS.

Hardback tome to slap one with

Those I like for a coffee table bock, fluff read and some hobby tips. It should contain rules, fluff and background, hobby tips and tricks and some high glossy mini pr0n pictures of display armies. That’s the one for the main game to show off with. Maybe even has basic stats for all armies/races in the game

A5 booklet in a box

The main event. All the main rules are in it, maybe a short little box with fluff here and here but basically it’s just the rules. Fits in your bag, can be scribbled in and marks made. The workhorse that should be in every starter set. Two if it’s a two player starter set.

Digital rules

Something you can read on your screen, what ever size it is. Searchable with clickable hyperlinks. Doesn’t need to be a PDF, can be a proper HTML file or online resource. No pictures, only rules.

Errata, rules updates/clarification

Those shouldn’t exist at all. In a perfect world the rule set would be flawless after testing and printing. But since this is not a perfect world I’d like to have those in the same fashion as the digital rules. And maybe, like Justin said, once a year a “book of corrections” to put on the shelf next to the big hardback.
