before long you’ll be responsible for fixing your own leaking heating system and sorting out that damp patch on the ceiling of the small bedroom

It might sound odd but I’m actually looking forward to that. Why? Because it’s something I can “just do” and do not need to inform the bloody landlord and hope that some day someone maybe comes around to fix crap. And I do not need to worry if I put in a wall somewhere if the next owner likes it or not.

But I’m getting way ahead of myself.
