I had a game of Midgard on Sunday prior to a Burns Night supper. Here we are with hope in our hearts in turn three:
I was playing Slough Feg and his Drunes (at the top of the picture) against the Draugr, 300 points each. A close game that lasted a fair while which is unusual in Midgard, perhaps helped by playing narrow end to narrow end of the table, condensing the battlefield. We both started on 8 Reputation and after I got the first attacks in I was up to 12 and the Draugr down to 7. Sadly it didn’t get any better than that. As might be expected the undead ground down their opponents and we called it when the Draugr had 6 Rep and I was down to 3 Rep, with three combats that I was likely to lose, each costing more than my remaining Reputation pool. Still fun though, apparently 😀
Still chugging away with my pledges. I’ve got the cavalry unit to do to get the Earth Tribes finished and if I can knock out the last unit of the Speedpaint Pen Romans by close of play on Saturday I’ll have painted 100 miniatures this month, easily the most I’ve ever done in a month.
