I doubt discord is as cooked as we want it to be though.

Like anything these companies do it will be tried again and again until they get what they want.

Heck, even if only a few folk sign up to have their ID scanned for commercial usage that’s a win in their books.

Plus … why did folk switch to Discord ?
I’d also be real careful with any competing product, because they may try to sneak this kind of  in their apps as well (if they haven’t done so already …)

Maybe we should go back to the newsgroups of old.
