@grantinvanman that is at best an evolution of technical materials used.

It’s not like they’re changing how many players are on a field, where the goals are and how big the field is …

and more importantly : they don’t abandon the entire thing after a few years.

In general sports tend to be pretty stable in terms of what they are, what equipment is used and how they’re played.

Tabletop games are an unreliable mess that do not have a standard format and an organisation that ensures stability.
The sunsetting of Shatterpoint is proof of this.
