Pledge:  Get my nearly painted Warriors of Athena party finished and play the first scenario.  Secondary pledge, sell my house.  I’ve got a second viewing booked by some people who saw it on Saturday and I’m doing the tour as they want me to do it, not the agent.  Fingers crossed.

What do you call your hobby store and do you see it as having a positive or negative impact on your hobby?

Answer:  I have made a conscious effort to stop using the phrase “Pile of Shame”.  I’m generally a very positive person and I don’t know how a phrase like that crept in to my everyday usage.  It did and I’ve decided I don’t want it any more so I’m correcting myself if I forget.  By preference I’m using a more neutral “The Pile” or if I’m making a point to myself I’ll say “Pile of Potential/Joy/Enjoyment”.  That is because I’ve thought about it and I’m not ashamed of my pile of hobby stuff.  I’m proud of it.  It has taken years of careful planning and collecting to put it together and I have a huge amount of me invested in it.  When I go and look at my big stacks of RUBs I’m genuinely excited thinking about what is in there and what it will look like when I get it done.  I don’t get a sense of overwhelm as I know many do, but maybe that’s just me.  Therefore my pile has a very positive impact on my hobby.  I love nothing more than having a good root round in there and pulling out some gems for my next project on OTT.  That’s one of the reasons I love the Spring Clean Challenge so much.

And for those of us who find hobby soothing:
