I guess paying them is optional as well …
just gimme my stuff and we’ll call it ‘complete’ when I get mine and we’ll settle the payment sometime in the future.
I bet they’ve listed this kickstarter as ‘completed’ since they got their funding in their bank account.
It would explain why they don’t appear to give a fck about any of the issues that have cropped up since.May 2, 2025 at 10:18 am #1927130CGL likes to gaslight their backers.
May 18, 2025 at 2:09 pm #1929353Gaslighting would imply they’re organised …
I’m pretty sure that they’re managing with a few half-arsed spreadsheets that were never meant to have that many rows in them.
Most importantly : they never learned anything from their previous projects.
June 15, 2025 at 10:56 am #1933005It’s now almost 4 weeks since their last update … and *crickets*
They did send out a newsletter mentioning that they will be at Origins with both Battletech and Leviathan …
I suppose the latter is to show that they are aware that they were supposed to be working on it ?
— edit —
It’s even worse for them. Battletech was so big that shipping in waves (could have) made sense, but there’s no way that kickstarter was big enough … and yet they do.
Something is rotten at CGL. I suspect their financial issues are bigger than they’re willing to admit or they think it is ‘normal’ to not have money reserved for this sort of thing (which would be even worse) ?

June 15, 2025 at 1:10 pm #1933022Wave 4? Or wave goodbye to any chance they will actually fully complete this KS?
This stuff outstanding from Clan Invasion.
They have time and money to go to Origins. Maybe stay at the office and DO YOUR DAMN JOB would be a better idea?
How long until the next KS is launched.
June 16, 2025 at 4:20 pm #1933089At this point looking in from outside, it seems like new KS are being used to fund increasingly older KS fulfillment, and that is rather like a pyramid shaped business model, or “scheme” as it’s often called. A game of musical gaming chairs with fewer and fewer chairs each musical round.
I feel that there will be a crash coming. Especially with the China tariffs issue, which they – I fully guarantee – never saw coming, and may be the death knell to US backers. Unless, TACO Tuesday happens.
June 16, 2025 at 9:57 pm #1933143yeah … there’s definitely something a bit iffy going on over there in terms of funding.
I’d say they are in denial and/or keeping things hidden because revealing this sort of thing ‘too early’ would definitely hurt their future prospects.
Part of the problem may be that they can’t skip Origins as they likely need it to fund the rest of the business. It’s not the sort of thing you can cancel last-minute (and I doubt they’d get a refund … ).
I do wonder how profitable Origins is for them, but then if they were more aware of their finances then they’d have zero problems running this project. Chaos seldom happens in a vacuum. It’s likely part of their way of doing business …
July 2, 2025 at 10:01 am #1934541Looks like they need to add a couple more levels to the pyramid?
2 new KS coming soon. Just to add to the list of projects they have not completed.
KS won’t stop them. And why Pathfinder went in to business with CGL goodness only knowns.
July 11, 2025 at 6:08 pm #1935885The april fools’ joke apparently is not a joke, but I do wonder how much kickstarter money was used to fund that little side project …
Battletech Gothic has been sighted. I saw an unboxing on youtubes somewhere. Not posting a link because the only thing CGL deserve is a good kicking.Still no update on their kickstarter, because why tell your fans that you got a new product they might want ?
Any other company would have done so …But then any other company would not have made the mess it is.
July 22, 2025 at 6:11 pm #1937248ah … ye olde ‘family emergencies’.
You’d think that hiring a ‘communications expert’ would cover that sort of thing.I guess it’s more like that internet elf that provided servers for several small companies that went missing during a critical time as well.
ie: that ‘expert’ is a one man/woman/thing operation and not an actual competent company.
Then again … CGL and them deserve each other for the sheer amount of incompetence on display with this sort of thing.

July 22, 2025 at 6:17 pm #1937249July 23, 2025 at 9:50 am #1937277That CGL cannot sack the ‘comms expert’ says a lot about how dysfunctional the company is right now 🙂
It beggars belief that they produced and shipped Gothmechs whilst failing to complete shipping of this multi-million dollar KS.
I’m gonna need a bigger bucket of popcorn whilst watching all of their other KS projects fail, and the rage of all the backers who chose to ignore the warnings.
July 30, 2025 at 7:43 pm #1938237Another day, another KS announcement from CGL.
My Hero Academia minis game.
Pyramid scheme?
July 31, 2025 at 7:53 am #1938262August 2, 2025 at 4:34 pm #1938693wait … that’s coming to kickstarter ?
I thought it was a pre-order … /facepalm
That’s what ? the 3rd crowdfunded project they’ve started while this one was still in the process of completing?I can understand companies have multiple projects active via crowdfunding as they can be in various stages of completion.
However none of CGL’s projects appear to be in a state that would allow them the luxury of moving people to different projects.
At this stage they must have outsourced everything, except their name to 3rd party contractors. That in itself wouldn’t be bad if they actually did manage their projects, but every update shows that they got no idea what their various projects are doing and they can’t handle any issues that might arise as the 3rd party is the only one able to do so.
Their current MO appears to be :
– announce crowdfunding for new game
– do a bit of promo work while the crowdfunding is active
– rake in the cash after the funding goal is reached
– hand over all responsibilities to 3rd parties
– repeatThey have shown zero interest in making sure the projects actually finish and deliver to backers.
//
Looks like they’ve moved to ‘Backerkit’ for this new campaign.
I guess even Kickstarter isn’t allowing them to start another project at this point in time …https://www.backerkit.com/call_to_action/3c76c552-151f-4d80-a27d-6a715b58ab4a/landing
