    Hi,

Can someone name the TV cartoon this model was based on?  For the life of me I can’t remember.

Thanks beforehand to anyone that can help.

It looks like Dirk the Daring from “Dragon’s Lair”.

yup it wasn’t a cartoon it was a PC game

Actually it was both.  Cartoon and video game (I remember it in the arcade).  It was a double cartoon, I believe, with Space Ace.

Thanks guys.  Once you wrote ‘Dragon’s Lair’, it hit me like a ton of Bricks.  I had no idea it was a video game though – because I never played video games, except maybe ‘Space Invaders’ in the mid to late 80’s.

The cartoon was based off the video game.

Glad my jumbled brain of useless knowledge was useful.  =)

It was one of the few games you could by on Lazer disc if I remember correctly

Man, that game took a LOT of my money! So far ahead of its time at the arcade.

I never played it.  All my money was eaten by Gauntlet II.  “Green Elf needs healing!”

You thought of cartoons and animated series because Don Bluth did the animation for Dargon’s Lair. Other works of his were:

    • The Secret of NIMH
    • An American Tail
    • The Land Before Time
    • All Dogs Go to Heaven
    • Rock-a-Doodle
    • Thumbelina

And a lot of work for Disney.

‘The Secret of NIMH’ is my favourite hands down.
