@biggabum ah yes I know TT combat. Would you mind posting up some shots and letting me know how the stuff is to work with? Was looking at picking up a few of their buildings. I may have a terrain addiction….
@sundancer I’m doing the same thing with my nephew. I figure if he can learn to paint neatly on old GW minis and unwanted reaper bones then late rn once he has a few techniques under his belt we can upgrade him to something more detailed if he is interested.
Some hobby today. based a few trees and tidied up my road sections a bit. Took the opportunity to do up a sample table to see how it all looked laid out. I think I will do some dry brushing and stippling on the edges in brown and then green to get the road sections to blend in with the tabletop a little.

And finally got my orcs up to what I am going to call a serviceable tabletop standard for now – could probably keep going for another 3 months but they are at least a lot better than they were before I revisited. Hey, have just realised that I finally did get back around to working on an army, after telling myself ‘yeah, I’ll fix it up later’ for the last 2 decades ;-P
September 2, 2018 at 9:47 am #1261375Hey guys,
ive has a few busy days and then very low energy levels where I was stuck to the couch.
these pics are from Saturday. Some work on a GKR mini, a finished Mordor Troll and some eadybguild Stormcast.
another reply shortly
September 2, 2018 at 12:30 pm #1261393@evilstu (page 3 Nice work! Love the pictures of the battlefieldtoo.
(page 2) Faithless is always a welcome listen. Ill take a proper pic of the Mordor Troll shortly with my light box.
@biggabum (page 2) I do do night shifts. I wouldn’t be against it lol.
@sundancer (page 2) Gum isnt my thing. Orc and boar look good. Digging the terrain. First one looks kinda Geigeresque in a way.
@woldenspoons (page 2) Loving all the death guard and your choice of colours. The army is really coming along
@tuffyears (page 2) I ain’t afraid of no ghosts.
+10 is as good as a bajillion 🙂
Well, what would you like to know about Arcworlde? I can have a think and do something for the thread. Ill be heading to bed later before work to charge the batteries, off for two days after my night shift and going to seriously focus on recharging my batteries. Having something ot think and type up about wont be a bad thing while I do so.
Im going to have to double check my pledge. As for the idea I had a few days ago about doing something crazy and epic over a short time period, and despite having some time off, my energy levels have gone crap. I think it is my sleeping pattern.
@biggabum (page 2) haha, cute kid.
September 2, 2018 at 3:29 pm #1261414@evilstu will post some pics later mate, its a bit difficult to see anything t the moment coz of all the rubber bands 😀 will pop some mini’s around them for scale.
As for the kits themselves- They can be a little bit tight on the frames but not so tight that they are too much trouble, although you do have to cut the little tags or they aint coming out. Also some of the studs that join pieces can be a bit tight and can split the MDF if you force them but a quick filing (doesnt need much) sorts that out. Other than that they go together well and i’ve not needed instuctions (none in the kit but they are on TTcombat website).
The only major issue i’ve had, and it could be a one off, was with the subway. One of the outer walls was cut out of scale with the rest of the kit. It was a good 3-4mm smaller than the opposing wall which meant that the lugs were mis-aligned and it made the opposing walls wonky, the rest of the kit was an arse to put together as well, so much so I just binned it. So that is one to avoid.
I think, for the price they’re definately worth taking a punt.
September 2, 2018 at 4:34 pm #1261424Are TTCombat who took over Dropzone/Dropfleet commander? I had a look at some of their buildings too. Those nice big appartment ones etc.
A brief amount of work on the Deathguard today but nothing too noticeable at least on a photo, just some washes etc. Very happy with how they are looking. But don’t worry Spoonsfans! I’m not selling you short. Here is a progress picture of my latest Walking Dead gang.

A few stages to go yet. Mainly skin. I’m not confident of painting darker skin tones so this is a good test for me. Who knows if I nail it I might do a Salamanders army.
I also found some STUNNING covers by Elvis impersonators. Let me see if I can find one.
You are welcome.
September 2, 2018 at 6:43 pm #1261470@woldenspoons I believe they are. I think its something to do with the TrollTrader on ebay (TT combat would make sense).
Nice work on the Walking Dead Mini’s. I see Lee and Clem have made it into your collection are you a fan of the Video game?
@evilstu right a couple of pics for you. I’ve included a Batman 35mm mini and a 28mm Bolt Action Mini to give you an idea of scale. (I’ve still got the window sills and frames to do and some railings)

September 2, 2018 at 7:00 pm #1261485September 2, 2018 at 7:01 pm #1261486I promise to get caught up with the weekend thread tonight or tomorrow – actually out of town this weekend visiting family (Labor Day weekend here in the US)
September 2, 2018 at 7:14 pm #1261489@oriskany LRDG are looking fantastic mate, how are you finding the 28mm mini’s now? You’ve certainly done them justice.
September 2, 2018 at 7:37 pm #1261512Thanks very much, @biggabum . I promise more detailed responses later. As for 28mm – I like the troops, I’m not sure about the vehicles. 🙁 I’m sure I just don’t have the hang of it yet.
September 2, 2018 at 8:06 pm #1261514@oriskany I think your being way to harsh on yourself mate. The Vehicles look great to me.
September 2, 2018 at 8:43 pm #1261521I finished this beauty. He is grubbier looking than the GKR prepaints, but this guy is like a mercenary drone type thing not belonging to the faction. Without a corporate sponsor or a brand name to protect, I doubt they would have the income to make them look like Formula 1 cars. A beautiful little model despite the paint kind of sliding off of him in parts. Thought I had cleaned it properly. Here’s hoping it doesent chip.
He was actually fast enough to do once I got the few Mephiston Red basecoats down, so I will be adding his three amigos to my pledge too. Feeling way more energetic after my nap today and my dog minding duties are at an end now. Two days off are coming so I should be a productive little hamster starting tomorrow afternoon. My martial arts club is not open on a Monday, my gym/pool membership is up and the weather is bad. I should still do something exercise related though…
Here are the next three. Sadly, I have run out of Mephiston Red Paint! Alas, I ordered some online with cheap ish shipping form the UK. My LGS hasn’t stocked GW paint in a while, while the next closest one would end up being costly with a one hour drive back and forth and parking in the city centre, food, etc. So, 3 or 4 pounds.
Hmmm, looks like I have a lot of fun posts to catch up on too!
September 2, 2018 at 8:58 pm #1261522White primer? Brave. Not for me!
Ah Zig and Zag, they hosted a kids tv show in Ireland back in the 1980s before moving to some English breakfast show (why that happened I do not know). Ah, memories.
I will raise your Faith No More Cover track with a different Faith No More cover track:
Salamanders Space Marines? Could work for an Orktober/Third War for Armageddon project on there J
@oriskany That is some amazing looking stuff.

Here is a ‘Test Ork’…. Must…. Resist… can’t… WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGH!!!!!!!
September 2, 2018 at 9:20 pm #1261525I’ve started highlights and washes on these dudes: Mr Freeze henchmen for the Batman Miniature Game (BMG). I need to get the older ones out which I finished and compare them as not to have them all look radically different.
Now, these guys:

Go together like this. Gaps are an issue, but man, that gold is beautiful

As you can see they are gorgeous and it is almost a sin to spray them.
