Massive Battletech News Dump

Just found a huge unoffical news dump. The guy that runs The Armed Painter youtube channel managed to get to Kerenskycon.

He has  posted a 40+ minute video with many clear pictures of game prototypes, the minatures, prototype new Battletech  board games.

Highlights of video

-new mintures

-28 mm scale Destiny scale Battletech being discussed

-Succesion wars board game  said to be similar to twilight Imperium

-A mass battle game compared to stratego

-Urbanmech lance pack on the way

-Urbanmech company as possible kickstarter bonus?

-mobile HQ and Long Tom as part of kickstarter

-one of the new themed mercenary lance packs  seems to have a destroyed urban mech as part of a scenic base

I’m not saying I’m earmarking a good chunk of the money I’m getting for recycling my old phone forthe Mercenaries Kickstarter, but I’m not not saying that either 😉

And also yeah, the fact that the Northwind Highlanders pack has a choice to either have the included Highlander mech jumping or mounted on a scenic base piece having given a poor Urbie a Highlander Burial? “chef’s kiss”

I did get a good set of STL files for Urbanmech’s a few months back – it’s pretty much every variant…

Did anyone else notice that (seemingly) all the UK Battletech retailers seem to have had a massive restock alongside the release of the updated Starter Box? A lot of them have promptly sold right back out again, but the likes of Firestorm are still showing impressive stock levels of all the Lances, Stars & Level II’s. What with Alphastrikes boxed set hitting at the end of the month it’s a banner time to be introducing folks to the game.

Update overnight on the Mercenaries Kickstarter – Catalyst have now moved it to March 2023, in part due to demand for the current product they are putting out, and to allow the sculptors time to get all 50 minis completed so that the campaign to completion time is reduced.
