@mage LOL …
I think WarCry could have been done with Ork tribes only, because they thrive on conflict even more so than Chaos.
As such it kind of sucks that there’s only 3 tribes of greenskins (Bonesplitterz, Iron Jawz and gloomspite gitz) and none of the variety that 40k has.I also kind of doubt that the grotz could win the average Warcry engagement, because they definitely need more than a handful just to survive.
I wonder if anyone has re-themed it as a Ork-only variant ? Or if GW is going to do that …

Found an ‘unboxing’ of the Gloomspite Gitz cards for Warcry :
stab ’em good boyz!
September 7, 2019 at 10:22 pm #1433591I think the point of playing a mog of Goblins isn’t to win in a smaller more narrative game, more… shenanigans really.
September 8, 2019 at 8:41 am #1433632@mage I see ‘winning’ as ‘completing all objectives for your team’ not as ‘murdering every opponent’ (although it does help).
Provided Warcry supports that it should be possible to have fun with a ‘weak’ army like those goblins.
However it looks like the stats for these folks aren’t quite so bad. In AoS all the advantage they get from the barbed net is a negative modifier for enemies. In this game they can neutralize a bigger foe (no movement), which makes it a prime target for the mob to move in and eliminate. It requires quite a bit of finesse in tactics to make them work.

You are all welcome.
September 9, 2019 at 1:38 am #1433895Guilty admission on my part here, I got distracted from my Orktober piece as I just picked up a box of The Unmade for Warcry. I swear that I will set the Cenobite creepy goodness aside and not assemble/paint it until my mighty greenskin menace is done. That actually is a feat considering how cool the figures are and my desire for some grotesque models with Halloween coming next month.
Making a pledge NOT to do something is almost as bad as trying to make a pledge TO accomplish something for the weekender thread.
September 10, 2019 at 9:38 pm #1434576Look at wot me boyz found :
that’s like an ancient web page from the dawn of time
September 11, 2019 at 9:48 am #1434657@limburger at the minute I’m running 2 big Stabbas, totem, morboy boss and 3 stikkas with Shields although I’ve had no games yet because I’ve been running Gloomspite! These guys surprisingly tough, the Spears and shield are toughness 5 which is very high for a grunt and the damage output on Boingrot bounders can be crazy!!
In our league there’s one guy running all out brutes for his ironjawz but haven’t played much so not sure that would be optimal but they hit like trucks so I’m sure it’s fun??
@mage of course your right I absolutely meant Waaaaaaghcry!! ?
I love the idea of this game with orc tribes, like gorkamorka in fantasy!!
EDIT WITH PICS;
Let’s get some green in this thread…

September 11, 2019 at 5:41 pm #1434778I’m soo close to finishing my Orky name generator I can smell it
These are of course famous last words … because there’s always one more line of code 😉
@LordSanes Waaaghcry! indeed.
@teddymademedoit those Gitz do look like they could be really mean in WarCry …
Not that I needed yet another excuse to add this game to my mountain of plastic 😉I wonder if I can resist before the entire thing goes out-of-stock. Soo tempting to go all-in.
