Post Locked While Editing

Having made a post I realised that even after having read it through once I had made a couple of mistakes. I went back in and it being a long post made the few changes and carried out a third read through. In the future I will try and do better with my first draft 😀 but while I had it open for editing the ability for me to edit it timed out. I clicked save having made the necessary changes and received a response stating this post could no longer be edited. Luckily the changes for me were only minor and the post still reads well enough, would it be possible for the timer on editing the post to not continue when someone has opened it to edit their post. If someone had done considerable rewords only to click on it at the end and find it was for nothing their PC or laptop may no longer be ontabletop!
