We’re starting to gear up for the launch of our Weird War 2 game ‘Reichbusters: Projekt Vril’, which is coming to KS later this year. Here’s a sneak preview of a couple of minis from the game. The officer is 32mm whilst the big fella is 95mm.

October 5, 2018 at 12:10 pm #1280864I have no interest in the genre but those minis do look amazing. I love the passion and details you guys put into every project.

October 7, 2018 at 3:38 pm #1282239Any reason why these are not scaled to 28mm so they could be used with other weird-war-2 games?
October 7, 2018 at 4:28 pm #1282246They’re a compatible size with DUST (not that we intended them to be, it’s just how it worked out when we compared them). We’ve not compared them with other ranges. A lot of ranges that claim to be 28mm are actually larger than that and terms like ‘heroic proportions’ are used to account for them being bigger. Not all do by any means, but this 28-35mm range is such a crapshoot on what size you’ll get that picking a scale in order to be compatible rarely works unless you’re trying to be compatible with one specific range (and even then minis within a range are not always consistent).
We found this with Solomon Kane where the minis are 35mm and we got a lot of comments on why we’d made the minis so much bigger than other games, but when we did a line-up photo with minis from other games the SK ones were not noticeably bigger. One of the first comments we got was why did we call them 35mm instead of just saying they were ‘heroic’.

Re scale yeah is is a crapshoot as you’ve said, Scale shots can be misleading depending on the angle, base etc. The only thing mythic can control is how they approach scale and being consistent with it.
When you say the range is 32mm what do you mean by this? Is this an average human being 32mm tall or 32mm to the eyes
My preferred way of checking if a mini will be comparable with my collection now days is to get the mini so it’s full size on my monitor then putting real mini up to the screen. But you can only do this if you know the size of the base.
October 11, 2018 at 9:43 pm #1284949Base size is also 32mm and the scale is roughly to eye level. To begin with the minis were the size of the ones we did for Solomon Kane, which are 34/35mm, but we’ve reduced them in size since. It means the earlier minis we had printed and painted are bigger than they’ll be in the final versions. That definitely applies to the Nazi troopers you see in the photo. Not sure about the Nazi officer and the French Resistance fighter. If they’re smaller than the troopers then that’s why.

October 13, 2018 at 3:25 am #1285725I love the brute in the second picture better than the first. Also like the new pose of the sniper in the second picture.
