There’s that hex-terrain kickstarter that looks dead sexy, as it may reboot my desire to play battletech.
And of course there’s Strikecommander, which launches this week IIRC.

Now if only OTT would stop showing more crowdfunding projects that’d be fine.

CGL had some weird kind of wave 1 – 3 set up for fulfilment but I can’t remember how they did it and how the size of a pledge influenced when you get your shiny toys.

Eighth Army Starter

British Airborne Starter

British Inter Allied Commandos

Anyone got any advice? And apart from rules, pin tokens and dice do I need anything else?

@pagan8th – don’t actually buy Warlord, get Perry miniatures. They’re 1000x better. Just use the BA rules. The Warlord minis are gurning faced massive handsy horrid sculpts.

By the time I finished painting them… they will look ugly anyway. I’m painting an army, not display pieces.

@pagan8th those starter sets get you the basics for a good army in v2 (I think it’s about a 1000 points in that version depending on options).

The sets are a few squads of infantry, a few medium sized support weapons, a bit of anti tank and a vehicle. There’s also a HQ/support pack that adds a few things (like a dedicated medic and officer team). I’d say the only downside is that your army will likely look like the ones every beginner will have, but that need not be a bad thing.

The v3 rules allow your army to feel a bit more like the real thing.

I’m no expert so take everything I say with a truckload of salt 🙂

It would be nice to have it done and dusted, because I’m at negative motivation for that game at the moment.
Which kind of sucks as there’s a hex-grid terrain kickstarter that would be perfect for Battletech.

Now I only need to try and do this myself as I got both a week free from work and at least two armies to build. 😀

I have my first cold of the winter. Started yesterday.  I am not fun when I am sick. This will not be a fun weekend.
On the plus side, yesterday was new amp day, a made-in-Bletchley Marshall, and today was new guitar day, a made-in-Japan Yamaha. So noise will be made this weekend.
