Don’t you get your days off back? Get well soon.

It’s not technically leave. I work a six day week and work five weeks out of six, so this is just my rota week off.

If I did claim I was sick I’d lose pay anyway as they don’t get pay the first two days. We used to, but our employers changed the rules, as they often do.

@grantinvanman I got mine in and shipped it off to my dad for Christmas. The game looked solid and it’d be a change in theme for my painting. Do you have any interesting terrain pieces that you’d put out for missions?

@sundancer We all know you didn’t go to the blackboard and write all that out. There were obvious squiggles all over.

@pagan8th Hot toddies and sleep do wonders. On the other side of sleep schedule fuckery I can’t seem to realign with “the waking world”. Trying to crush hobby goals while looking for work has an effect. Almost done with painting some more stuff and need to move onto old school kitbashing. Yes, real physical/analog material handling type stuff is being done.

@horati0nosebl0wer – nothing VN yet, but lots of ideas! I had a pile of minis which I changed my mind on, and sold off. I’ll probably go with Empress for the next batches.

Obviously, some scenarios that would be fun are “Charlie don’t surf!” from Apoc Now – I once ran a convention game in 6mm with that, to great effect.

The battle of Hue would be equally fun, inspired by Full Metal Jacket – any chance to get some M48s on a table would be fun.

Im also tempted to use the rules to game the French earlier period …

So many possibilities! How about you?

Sadly I’m on medication that does not mix with alcohol, so no hot toddies for me.

I’d really like to be able to sleep and if the headache would bugger off I’d be fine, just a mild cough.

Edit: Echo Base Defenders arrived. Started shaking badly when I was opening it… I think they put some Hoth inside it.

    This virus is no fun.

It’s like winter refuses to winter over here.

Weather reports predicting ‘lots of snow today (up to 12cm which is an insane amount)’ … and we get exactly 0.
Not even a single snow flake to be seen.

    I suspect a conspiracy.

Didn’t have the drive to do hobby today. Simply not feeling it at the moment. The Battletech kickstarter ‘update’ (if you can call it that) didn’t help.
    Maybe tomorrow ?
At the very least I hope to have the motivation to do some hobby in the weekend.

@pagan8th All my empathy for sitting about and feeling like ass. I’ve been hit by inspiration when I thought “Hey, this army is almost done. Sweet!”. Late nights of painting and then last night I pushed a build that ended after the sun came up. I have other parts that are in need of finishing and progress is forthcoming. The reinvigoration process plays hell with sleep.

Thursday! Almost made it to the weekend!

Anyone who had seen my wife’s christmas gift for me on stream (the backlit picture frame) will be delighted to hear:

LED filament arrived yesterday and is already cut, glued and soldered in place. It looks sooo much more awesome now 8)

Star Wars Legion miniatures are so easy to assemble. Yes, they are single pose so each unit looks the same, but you don’t even need the instructions to assemble them.

However, I’m still not back to full functionality as this virus is a bitch, so I’ll do the laser cannon, tauntauns, Chewie and Leia later.

One bottle of mead is now empty. It’s been ages since I had some and it tasted even better than I remembered.
It’s probably because it’s a different make, because I found a webshop selling mead (and related products).

There’s one cherry flavoured and one cherry+cinnamon (sp?) flavoured bottles to go … but that’s not today.

(I didn’t drink the entire bottle … I’d still be sleeping of my alcohol if I did that 😉 )

    Anyways …

I blame OTT for pointing me towards yet another kickstarter I may want and to ensure you all suffer as well here’s the link :

Still no serious amount of snow outside, despite the promises/predictions made by the weather guys.

@pagan8th The tauntons aren’t all bad to put together it’s just boring to look at when you get the saddles on. Chewbacca has the same thing going on for ease of assembly.

@limburger I finally got snow a few days ago and the temps are proper winter ones below freezing. I can say that mead and I are only sometimes reintroduced. Our first meeting was a little forced as I had procured a bottle underage while in the military and living in the barracks. The bottle had to be lost in time and space never to be found. That meant consuming more than was pleasant. I might give it a go again in small quantities.

Vreme glazbe/muzike momci (music time boys!) This all minus Dio. Maybe it’s just a little deeper?

Almost all Echo Base assembled now and it was easy. I’ve kept a few bits separate for now to make painting easier.

Original Core set had different colour bases for each faction, but I see they’re all grey now.

@limburger – it RAINED today, probably the first time in January I can recall that happening. Snow is all but melted.

But next week is back to double-digit below 0c temperatures again.
