I did a poll. I’d like your input. Maybe even from @brennon and @avernos if you be so inclined to go to YouTube for that 8)

The instant-gratification that videogames and social media in general bring is a real killer for this hobby.

Then again  … GW is still attracting new blood to (their part of) the hobby, so there has to be a trick to it.

Boardgame conventions appear to attract families, so there’s that as well.

I’m still trying to find a way to get my nephews and niece interested in some aspect of this hobby, but am lacking ideas.
The ones with kids in this community are lucky to have a normy within reach they can attempt to brainwash …  😉

I got my weekly solo board game session in today. The plan being to get in a session every weekend of 2025. Really enjoying how much the Heroes of Might and Magic 3 board game matches the old PC game.

I found my might&magic 3 discs today … and threw them into the trash.

I remember it as an old-school dungeon crawler with graphics straight out of Wolfenstein 3D.

Never finished it though. Not sure how it relates to ‘Heroes of Might&Magic’, but I suspect it’s the same universe with one being a classic RPG and the other a RTS of sorts.

I do remember that I played a game of Might & Magic back in the day. But I can’t for the life of me remember which one it was. Well, can’t be helped. Played a lot of video games back then.

    3 more hours until Monday.

@limburger I believe you are correct, they were related games. I never played Might and Magic, but I think it was RPG style whereas Heroes of Might and Magic was an RTS. I believe it was the more successful of the two game types.

This is a great idea regarding the solo board games I have a few that have that mode and I should play them. Too many board games waiting for players. I really need to recruit a new board game group.

    Monday.

Single player board games. I think I should give the last Mantic advent calendar a go.

    Happy work week everybody!

Seems to be a lot of people that play with themselves. I have fair number of solo/coop games and I’ve been meaning to have a go.

Some are very long games and take a while to set up which puts me off… I’m looking at you Eldritch Horror!

If the Bar Room Brawl from 2023 is to go by I recon the one from last year will be a fast one. I’ll keep you lot posted.

    12:50, on a Monday afternoon.

After an exciting weekend of grabbing Eldar new releases, I will have two 40k armies to paint for myself sometime this year.

Also have almost finished the first batch of the commission of Necrons, with 2-3 batches more to go!

And something fun showed up today – @sundancer

Pledge: finish up another unit for my Hellenics… maybe two if I’m really feeling frisky.

The homepage of some companies are up to date with the goings on of the company. FB seems to be a catch all platform for ease of creating notices and receiving notifications from other users. In general it might be the amount of normies present out there to give a “digital mainstreet” and a client facing not-shop presence. If people are engaged digitally then maybe they might come in physically (madness).

In general @pagan8th is right about the audience for current sales.

@danlee fancy schmany on the random side project work so far. Its good to have a “Its done and I have no immediate other project” pile

@grantinvanman Good call and you see the diminishing attention span of each. Also, Napoleonics + madness = Silver Bayonet.

@limburger Bulletin boards?! Next thing you’ll mention are ftp sites.

@sundancer It looks like the joke is going international.

The votes are in! Skellibobs win!

So which of these sets is the best set of skellibobs to get? Keeping in mind that Wargames Atlantic is 0.85€ per mini, Mantic is 1.50€, Northstar is 1.00€ and Warlords are also 1.00€ per mini. But at the same time the price per box ranges from 30 – 24 € [Price at the time of writing!]

The votes are in! I did push this poll on Mastodon and YouTube and the combined results are:

Wargames Atlantic Skeleton Warriors 26,99€ 16%
Mantic Games KoW Undead Skeleton Regiment 30,10€ 12%
Northstar Oathmark Skeleton Infantry 30,00€ 64%
Warlord Erehwon Skeleton Warriors 23,32€ 8%

So as a viewer suggested I will be buying one box of Warlord and one of Oathmark skellibobs (when they are back in stock at my FLGS) and do a side by side. Thanks for participating! And I’m sure @brennon and @avernos will love this 😉

PS: both boxes are on backorder at the FLGS but I did put an order in. 8)

Just like when comparing miniatures, making the right choice in iGaming solutions is crucial for success. Platforms like BetBazar help connect the best products with the right audience, ensuring you get the most value out of your selection.  Thanks for participating! And I’m sure  @brennon and  @avernos will love this

This will be a cool comparison, big difference in prices and well done! I think Oathmark will be a good choice in the end
