Walnuts – luxury! Here they would get peanuts which are the only ‘nuts’ sold in bulk for feeding to wild animals. And yes, I know technically they are a legume rather than a nut.
May 12, 2025 at 8:54 am #1928358Walnut are the better option IMHO. They are still with shell so they can sit a long time without risk of rot. And it’s much more fun to watch when Gerry (that’s what I call the local squirrel) comes around gathering nuts.
May 12, 2025 at 8:59 am #1928359So Gerry is gathering nuts in May. There is an English nursery rhyme about that, as I’m sure anyone with kids old enough for the Wiggles will testify.
May 12, 2025 at 12:55 pm #1928414@sundancer @zoidpinhead currently looking into the issue with image uploads to the forums. As for the avatars, I have a fix working on the dev site where avatar images are stored in the cloud storage. Once I’ve taken a look at image uploads and apply a few code fixes/updates the updated avatar functionality will be implemented to the live site.

May 12, 2025 at 4:27 pm #1928435Maybe it’s too hot to do anything hobby related ?
I sure as heck got absolutely knackered moving a few boxes around to clear some actual working space within my hobby room.Might update my hobby-project once I get everything looking a bit less like a dumpster … and it would qualify as a ‘spring clean’ too, because it’s the continuation of last years ‘ spring clean challeng’ 😀
That big table I made really manages to make the room smaller. At least there’s still enough room to walk around the table (minus the bit that’s near the windows, but who needs those ?)
Anyways … biggest challenge will be to make the room look cool and I still have got no clue how to do that.
There’s definitely a visit to the blue+yellow scandawegion store in the future.@sundancer : any blueprints of the thing ? or are there any official squirrel feeder designs that you’ve used?
Which reminds me that I need to attempt to do some gardening as well. Yet another thing that needs planning and input from someone who understands these things. There’s also the magnolia (sp?) tree at the front of my property that needs trimming. Need to plan for that (or find someone willing to do the job for free, but I doubt that’s gonna happen 😀 )May 12, 2025 at 5:25 pm #1928451@limburger it’s an old PDF that’s been around some time.

May 14, 2025 at 6:36 pm #1928799ooh … the instructions are incredibly detailed.
So all that’s needed is a big plank of wood and a bit of acrylic ?I kind of want to build an hedgehog house, but all the plans I’ve found so far were incredibly vague and assumed the person trying to build the thing was a master carpenter with a ton of tools.
This thing looks amazingly practical both in terms of material and tools needed.
May 14, 2025 at 6:48 pm #1928810May 15, 2025 at 10:56 am #1928890I know it’s not really free, because I bought the magazine, but it’s a chance to try painting a smaller scale… when I get around to it.
May 15, 2025 at 12:19 pm #1928891What wizardry is this?!? A picture! Let me try:
*progress update for my Shuwa Arabs, sadly upload denied*
Oh well. I relally like the look of that sprue. I love all things Celts and would happily give them a go. I’m looking for a copy at Partizan on Sunday.
May 15, 2025 at 5:07 pm #1928896@zoidpinhead apologies, I thought I had fixed the upload issue but it appeared once more. I’ve tried clearing caches and should be working. Please let me know if your are still having difficulties.
May 15, 2025 at 6:07 pm #1928897lets test
Fail
The image could not be uploaded. Please check that it is a valid JPEG, PNG, or GIF file and that the file size is no larger than 5 MB.
@tgu3 directory permissions maybe bonkers?
May 15, 2025 at 6:21 pm #1928898Same for me @tgu3 It runs the upload to 100% and then kicks in the error message. Thank you for fighting the good fight on our behalf in the darkest depths of the legacy code.
