@rayzryr Quite simple.

I paint a first coat of dark brown, then I start plotting out my rust patches by using a lighter brown. Don’t thin the paint, use a hard brush, wipe off most of it and stipple it where you want your rust to be. After that, add yellow into the brown and repeat, but with smaller patches. Now drybrush some metal colour (not too bright) sparsely on the rust.

Then block in your main colour by, again, stippling the outlines, then painting in the rest. Don’t be concerned about coverage. After that, use a thinned down brown wash to tie it all together.

At last highlight your main colour by stippling with it along the edges (use a finer, hard brush) and finally put in some white and repeat, with a finer stippled outline. That last step should be contained to upper and side edges.

Hello all, now a proper entry onto the thread.

The pledge I have this week is to slap playable paint jobs onto the Some’r Teeth crew for Malifaux and call it good. I’m getting the idea, now with a bit of strain and repetition to myself, that there is an acceptable level of effort below showpiece. It can look good even with less done.

1. Why am I late with my post? I’m currently finishing up end of the year projects that I should be checking off my year end list. Which may or may not be fruitful.
2. What have I been playing lately? Nothing at all. Work takes 6 out of 7 days a week now and I’m putting in the effort to paint minis and not have anything be bare material. I am actually making progress after cleaning the workshop section of my room.
3. The next event I’m looking forward to is my bday and then Giftmas. Its little victories that I take where I can and hope for big ones from time to time.

@sundancer  I think the increase to Wis and Int has been done with my levelling as my Str, Dex, Cha and Con start to drop.
