The launch has gone incredibly well. I know from working on website and software launches how unstable they can be and, to be honest, I’ve been shocked by how well the website has held up. You guys should be very proud of yourselves 🙂
Quick question, where is Gen Con being held?
The Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis over in the US:

Hey Llyod I go to GenCon every year. It’s absolutly fantasic, every game imaginable. Only thing, no GW at all. A couple of retailers sell there, and I buy a ton of 40k stuff every year, but next to zero GW games going on in the event catallog. I think it highlights GWs arrogance in thinking that they are the top dog in war gamming. Lots of warmachine, FoW and battletech to name a few but hardly any GW.
Sorry for the rant. What would you like to know about GenCon? How may I be of service?
I don’t mind about the Youtube comment thing, but it’s always good to remember your roots, as it were. You’re doing it right, dudes! And why don’t you have an “Ask BOW” box on the homepage(s), easier than the current e-mail option.
And are you ever gonna paint that Stompa in the background?
And I WANTZ DAT B.O.W T-SHIRT!
You guys ought to do more painting guides and vids. I am constantly using your unboxing and build vidieos (which are brilliant!) to help me with a new model I am making and then I have absolutly no idea how to paint it! Especialy my fortress of redemption, which is currently sitting at the back of my wardrobe, waiting to be painted.
Hey guys! I love the new website ,its soo …… Beastly heh heh. Anyway wheres the Next gamescape!? i need it!
the new site is just awesome, thumbs up guys.
I’m very pleased that gamescape is becoming such a big show, it’s just amazing.
one final notice: is it possible to include something like a gallery to put your pics in
thanks
Hi @baneblade1995 and @gowiththeflow the next GameScape part is in the works and a gallery is something we are talking about.
Hey lads, I’m currently following your gamescape guide and I’m making the WHFB table but I’m literally just waiting around for the third episode. Just wondering if you’ve finished editing it and if I could possibly, maybe expect it this week? 😛
Thanks for the update btw 🙂
The launch seems to have been a big success, some of the features are great and I haven’t found any bugs yet 😀 A gallery or some sort of place for project logs would be great.
I’m also waiting on the next episode of Gamescape, it’s excellent.
And any chance on some more Flames of War soon?
Excellent stuff.
The new page is great. I dont have a youtube account because I’m not interested in commenting videos, but I singned up to your page cause here peopre are talking about their hobby.
A great fature would be a whishlist like the one on gog.com where someone can leave a request and the other users can vote for it.
http://www.gog.com/en/wanted/
So you can get a good feedback.
I think the new website is great. It is a lot better to follow up with comments on the BOW website. Ever since youtube relaunched, comments on youtube have been a huge issue.
The website is outstanding! Keep up the good work! Looking forward to your next gamescape ep1sode.
Sorry for being a pronunciation Nazi, but beta is said “bayta” not “beeta.” That crap drives me nuts.
‘Bayta’ is American , ‘Beeta’ is English
Love thw website! more so then youtube. I think you guys have done a fantastick job, like othere ppl have said befor me alot easyer to follow the comments. Happy to be part of this community 🙂
good stuff guys, website is very nice overall, although the groups/forums/etc is a bit of a warren to navigate (although considering the kind of setup it was inevitable).
My main, more general query is, as advocates of all wargames, are you going to spend any time in the future highlighting the GW Specialist Games? All (except perhaps Bo5A?) have very strong web-based followings and are still worth GWs while keeping on tick-over, even if they haven’t been supported with any new releases in the last year or two (the last release was the Warmaster Araby army range).
There really is a lot to talk about relating to the evolution of each games player community and nature of the games themselves – Inquisitor being my personal passion, on that alone I could ramble on about the evolution of it’s player community attitudes over the past 8 or 9 years.
Of course, the real problem with BoW is that there is just so much out there for you guys to cover (both new and “old”) and so few hours in the day to produce material for the site =)
And if you’ve managed to make any sense of this long-winded nonsensical post, well done. =D
Hey guys!
I love your videos obiously otherwise I wouldn’t be here!
What kind of kook would?
I have some suggestions though.
Rather than disableing comments now and the just say to on the youtube video or in the description ‘We’ as in beasts of war will only be commenting on the website.
It’s a whole pychology thing, they don’t want there comments to count as half votes so that drives them over here.
Second wile I do love the chats here it is kinda hard to navigate with group area you get a break down of whos joined and current posts rather than topics.
When you get to the stage of multiable people joining each hour your going to have rapid scroll down problem or even having to click for the next page. (in an ideal world everyone would chat here where else would they chat?)
But more importantly having single posts drives the whole if a topic is current it must stay at the top and it is easy to miss understand when your looking at a single post rather than whole topic.
Just a suggestion but view them as topics would most properly be good.
And one final thing on the suggestions thing.
Rather than using html code use forum bbcode which is alot simpler.
I mean I love the video smart linking like where you grab the video and you can just slap it on thats fantastic but with the mix of that and html I can see people being confused.
Once again just suggestions I love the folks who your getting here at the moment far less aggro than some other sites and generally alround happy people.
Also, make sure to enjoy gencon for one extra person…
Our one got cancelled :'(
I’m a big fan… Love what you’re doing and love the ideas for the future. The new site is fantastic. I’m looking forward to more.
I’ll chime in. I also visit GenCon indy every year & love it. I use it primarily as a reunion of 14 or so friends. A hell of a drinking vacation with devastating shopping, good RPGs, Tabletop gaming and a dose of everything splashed and new. If you guys will be there this year, I owe ya a drink (or three)! Your show is both inspirational and so excellently done! (I arrive Thursday & jet our Sunday) so a Blitzkrieg for me. 😉 Drop me a line!
hi guys! love the site, your enthusiasm has really got me back into the hobby after a while out! cheers for that!
do you reckon you guys will be merging armies across gaming systems in a sub catergory of content, eg. unboxings etc.. because i really want to make a sick ass alternative vampire counts army with lots of matic skeltons :p but don’t know much about other production companies and would like an “undead sub section” of fatasy gaming with all undead goodness integrated…?
thanks again guys
Hey, I’ve been in living in Indiana near Indianapolis for some time, and I’ve gone to gencon indy every year since it’s been at the convention center, so I WILL BE THERE playing in the ogre smash tournament (warhammer fantasy 8th edition tournament).
hah I have to admit, this got me to signup 😛 Although I’m not sure why I didn’t before; the only thing I can think of was -waay- back when I first found the link to the site, it was still in private beta. Oh well, I’m here now, and its awesome 😀
Hi BOW, love the new site. I do go to Gen Con every year and I was wondering what you guys are planning to do with the feedback? I love letting my inner geek out at Gen Con but I’m probably more of a casual gamer. I love demoing all types of games, love the mini’s of all genres and systems (even if I don’t play them) and meeting up with and encountering familiar gaming people every year at the con.
big thumbs up on the page guys its does seem to have had a good launch 😉
getting your own BoW homepage was a fantastic move,
it’s hard to talk about things on youtube, especially about hobbies-related themes,
thumps up ;D for your great work
Appreciate the update guys, thanks! Looking forward to the coming months.
I’ll be going to Gencon for all days, don’t have much planned yet other than a greenstuff workshop.
I’ll be at Gencon this year also. 1st time for me though. My friend and I are going there to take in the sights and run karaoke.
possibly karaoke, don’t know yet
I’ve been going to Gen Con almost every year since 1993, and I’ll be there again this year. I’m building a Tau army and I’m looking for bitz, plus I’m playing in a whole bunch of miniatures demos, like Malifaux, Leviathans, Reich of the Dead and more. Drop me a line.
I’ll be heading to GenCon but won’t be doing as much wargaming as I’d like to, just mostly pick up and open games of Warmachine.
Absolute;y love the new website, looks great and establishes a central location for us to have a dialogue…pretty much what you guys said in the video, hehe.
lookin good gents!
Love the site, but Its made me start checking every 5 minutes for new videos now its easier than youtube.
hey guys just wanna say that i love the website, i was one of the first to join…. and its going really well.. keep up the great work guys,
