North Star Military Figures has recently introduced some more of the 15mm Hornblower range by Mace Face Miniatures to their website. Shambling Bogmen, fearsome Savages and valiant Valkyries are going to be heading to Fantasy battlefields.

Bogmen Command // Mace Face Miniatures

We start with the Bogmen, who are Mace Face's reanimated, zombie-type creations that have wandered out of the marshlands of the Hornblower world. They would be excellent for representing a lost and forgotten peoples within your Fantasy world that have been resurrected by some dark and potent power within the land.

There are a couple of different options for you to choose from when it comes to the Bogmen. You have the Command miniature (first image), which features champions, horrid standard bearers and eerie musicians. You also have the Bogmen with Hand Weapons (above) and those armed with Spears as well.

This gives you some great miniatures to build a skirmishing warband with, accessing lots of options that could be used to overwhelm barbarian warriors! They should be fun and easy to paint as well, with tattered leather scraps on their bodies, which could be painted in a pale blue or green, echoing their undead nature. I quite like the idea of going with something mottled and blue, as if they were drowned bodies from the depths of the bog.

New Savages

As well as the Bogmen, you also have a new set of 15mm Fantasy miniatures for the Savages/Savage Tribesmen. This time, these fur-clad warriors come armed with hand weapons and shields.

As with a lot of the sets from Mace Face Miniatures, the set comes with a mixture of both male and female warriors. As I think I mentioned the last time I dove into the Mace Face range, these would be perfect for representing the peoples of Nordheim if you were matching this up with the world of Conan.

Mighty Valkyries

Capping things off, we also got some excellent new miniatures for the Valkyries of the Hornblower range. Here, you can see more of these warrior women with double-handed weapons like swords and axes.

Some ace, elite warriors that could be used to guard some of the heroes that you might have amongst the ranks of the Valkyries. I could see these looking awesome when painted up in excellent golden armour alongside flowing blue cloaks. A great way to highlight their obviously radiant blonde hair, I would say!

As well as the Valkyries on foot, you can also get your hands on some more elite cavalry miniatures charging forward with some brutal-looking spears.

Another glorious set of miniatures for the Hornblower range and you've now got more than enough to build an excellent Valkyrie army for use on the tabletop. There are plenty of games for you to play with these but perhaps Midgard Heroic Battles could be a neat idea!
