Westwood Woodwork To Kickstart Their All-In-One Painting Station
October 21, 2015 by brennon
Westwood Woodwork are a new company who have put together a rather nifty looking place to store all of your hobby work and stop it spilling all over your office. See what you think of the Illumistation which should launch on Kickstarter Friday 23rd October...
The Illumistation has enough room for 100 paints and paintbrushes and comes with the various compartments for storing all of your additional hobby material. It also features an LED day-lamp built into the station enabling you to keep painting regardless of the time of day.
The whole thing looks incredibly hard wearing and sturdy and I think this is a novel response to needing a dedicated space to paint your miniatures.
What do you think?

Fantastic idea if you don’t have a dedicated space!
This sounds great. While I do have an are in my spare room earmarked for a dedicated hobby station, I still like to be portable. If i want to get a bit of painting done while keeping one eye on a match this will be ideal.
where can I buy this?
this looks like a solution to the hobby v next stage in life conundrum. put on the desk and work then put away and go back to the grind.
wonder what the pricing will be like?
Beautiful looking piece of kit-Will have to keep an eye on this-I’ve read on another forum that the price (or at least starting price) is £90.00.
I have to be portable myself and we’re expecting our third child in February so any office/hobby space is set to be a new nursery/playroom. Atm I paint at the dining tables so it can be a fuss getting my paint station/air brush/basing materials out just to try and squeeze in an hours painting.
If you really can fit everything in it would be ace.
May have to ask Father Christmas and see what is included for the price….Min you I think I’d be scared to get paint on such a lovely looking paint station!
hi mate, thank you for your comment and just to confirm there is ten early bird offers of £90 and ten early bird 2 offers at £100 on my kickstarter which goes up tomorrow 🙂
Very very beautiful idea, Ill keep an eye on it but I have a feeling that the postage will kill it for me
hi mate, i just thought i would message you and thank you for your comment it is fantastic and about the postage, around England is £10 and postage everywhere else is £50 so about the steepness of it but i would like to get it to you in one piece lol
wow 150 pounds to get one in the States? Didn’t expect it to be that bad. Best of luck.
We fitted patio doors upstairs to the back bedroom with the sole idea of being able to use it as a craft room. We also have a dedicated table downstairs for the same. But this gives me an Idea and at £90 or there about’s is actually the same price as changing the rear guttering. However having a wife who used to design and build bridges for a living I cannot see me ever being able to purchase one. It’s like having my Grandad around at times who would question any and everything purchased with the phrase “Could you not have made one.” Unclejimmy show your better half the pictures and shell build you one with extending legs and paints your models for you! LOL.
Seriously guys and gals, just shown Victoria it and what do you think she might have said. “Your having a Giraffe mate, I can build you one of them.” LOL
This is not knocking this product or its production and fantastic value many times over “especially if you have better half/partner who develops an accent like Skippy the bush Kangaroo.” And any parent who does not want to stop Jimmy from his creative hobby but would just love it to be able to put it away (not that little Jimmy would ever put anything away that’s what his parents are for!)
Like the idea and might I point out that this would score so many points in the smug jar, as it would suite so many other hobbies and not just ours and with the better half so hard to buy for since I bought her a new iron and ironing board a couple of Christmas’s back. (She said she needed one when I asked what it was she needed, but forget to say for Christmas. Might I point out never ever make that or similar error. LOL) Might look to get enough wood and stuff for her to make two of them. What do you think the chances of not being roasted along with the festive fare though.
