About the Project

As I am deep into Star Wars Legion and am now making little incidental items of terrain for it I might as well have a punt at making some input into this competition! I plan to make the Massassi Ruins, or at least part of it from Star Wars. Many of you will recognise this as the original Rebel Base from A New Hope. I feel that this fits in with the theme of the challenge in many ways. Firstly the Death Star approaching Yavin IV does indeed symbolise that the end is nigh for the Rebellion (or is it!) but the whole site has seen a number of apocalypses in its time, firstly the Massassi people and then the Sith (and then the crew of the Death Star, oops, sorry, SPOILERS!) more can be found out about the temple HERE

So ive printed up some new terrain for the Yavin board.

I had originally decided to make the yavin hanger out of foam board. I could easily make it representative of it and as my test pieces showed, could look cool.

I then looked for more cool models on the internet and found imperialterrain.com who appear to be a partnership of 3d designers out of America. they have made a representation of the hanger with assorted ‘stuff’ with them. for the grand total of £3.80 I could buy the file and print it as many times as I liked. it would cost me more in foam board and glue to make it the traditional way so it almost became a no brainer.

I painted it using the already documented method. I am happy with it, but not the scale, needs to be bigger, much bigger. just can I be bothered to wait the 1000 hours it would take to print it in the size? we shall see (probably not lol)

Whilst I was there I also downloaded their temple ruins, they’re printing now!
