Hi,
As a change of pace I decided to continue painting my Rising Sun copy. I’ve been working on and off on this project for a while now. I’ll show you what I’ve been up to and what I’m painting right now.
Enjoy!

Again changing pace from my Star Wars Legion army. This is Komaina one of the monsters available in the base box of Rising Sun. Overall a pretty simple paint scheme of Citadel Auric Gold and several pass of Reikland Fleshshade. It doesn’t show well on these pictures but I’m really proud of the eyes. I used my Windsor&Newton Series7 brushes. Never thought good quality brushes would make such a huge difference on my painting skills. I would wholeheartedly recommend this brand and model. They are a bit expensive though but I’ll take care of them so they should last me long enough.

So here is my finished Oni of skulls. I’m really proud of this one. Probably one of the most challenging mini I had yet to paint. There is so much details and the sculpt is really good so I took my time and used all the talent I could muster. I think the result is pretty good. Easily the best mini I have painted in my life. It took about 10-15 hours to complete. Considering that this is only one of maybe 50 more like it, it will be a long winded project for sure. Enjoy!

Hi there,

I deleted my previous photos because somehow they ended up sideways. So here are new ones. This is the Oni of Spite. I redid the hairs because I didn’t like them and then worked on the base some more. Still don’t like the base so we’ll see how I can improve it. I’ll probably end up simply painting it flat red.
