About the Project

At The Dragon's Rest we've been working for the last few months on designing a set of 3D printable terrain for sci-fi games. It's been launched on Kickstarter to allow for the resources to finish the modelling and get all the files released as soon as possible. The pieces have all been designed to use a clip system with the option for magnets. Everything is based on a 1 inch grid so you can create layouts for RPGs and dungeon crawlers as well as terrain for wargames.

So I’m nearing the end of delivering on all the files for the Kickstarter and am at a point that I can release the complete terrain bundle to the store – I was getting a lot of emails about when a discounted bundle was going to be available.

I wanted to put together a table that showcased a lot of the pieces in the currently released kit so put together some 3D renders. I’ll be tweaking this layout as some new pieces are finished like the destroyed wall sections.

I’m really pleased how it’s all finally coming together 🙂

The Internal stair corridor sections have holes in the top and bottom for going up and down levels. The stairs have clip holes on the first and last step to be used with any other connection hole and to allow the stairs to stay in place when the roof is removed.

Decorate your corridor roof sections with these greeble pieces. Each one has clip connection holes on the underside.

The airlock/entrance pod has sliding doors that will work with the roof section on or off.

The Corridor Hatch sections will fit with the other 2×3 corridor pieces. The top hatch has a working hinged door. The ladder uses a clip to attach it to the interior of the top corridor section or to any other clip point.

The crates are 2 pieces and designed with a hinge for you to hide weapons or maybe booby traps inside.

After a lot of hard work on the initial engineering and designs the Outpost: Origins Kickstarter launched and was funded in under 2 hours!

It’s been so much fun building all the pieces, placing it all together on the table and having it work in ways you had never thought of. We’re really looking forward to the layouts people will make once the Kickstarter’s over and we get the files out.
