About the Project

Being on lock down with the kung-flu I decided to start my first project on here. This should hopefully be a quick one being only a single miniature. The miniature in question is 'Oakley* from Hasslefree miniatures. I have had this for about 3 years maybe. I painted him... put him in the dettol then my wife half painted him....I put him in the dettol.... now 2 years on I thought it would be a good time to actually do it.

This Project is Active

It continues !!

Trying something new this time.  I have an idea for a little bit of a display stand ( I am under no false impressions this will in fact turn out ok lol)  so I have tried to sculpt the Book of the Dead cover.

As you can see from the pictures in order of attempt.  This is my first time using greenstuff for something besides gap filling.

First attempt………. Well, this had me thinking f@$k this !! as you can see, it turned out lovely 😉

Second attempt was a little bit better at least this looks like something !!

Third try and it looks ok. I may or may not go back and re try to sculpt a better version. But as it stands, Will do rightly.

Another little bit for tonight.

I did the trousers in zandri dust and then hit them with a wash of soft tone (twice) to darken it all down.  Still unsure of this step and may go in and redo them perhaps. I will see how I feel when I begin to go onto the next step.

Some colour has been added.

Ok, at this stage I have basecoated the skin with gw bugmans glow then a wash with army painter flesh wash.  I have done the shirt in macragge blue.  slow progress and feeling old… my eyes are having a hard time seeing the tip of the brush. Perhaps I do need glasses after all. !!! Trying to stay neat around some of those shirt rips was a bit of a bugger.

Zenith highlight.

At this stage, I have just hit it with a quick zenith highlight with heavily watered down matt white from the army painter just really to help me see various parts of the model.

As I begin to start working on Oakley, I found the old base I made for him. My Cat has eaten the seafoam off of the tree. !!   Im not sure if to reuse this or start a new one. If I go the route of making a new one, I am thinking the stone table with the 3 books from the movie but that means trying to sculpt one !
