Infinity Spring Cleaning

About the Project
So…I've fallen in love with the world of Infinity. I've acquired a boat load of their metal. I've assembled quite a bit of it. I started and finished painting up most of the Aristeia! minis. However, to date I've not painted a single Infinity mini. Part of that is because I've been intimidated by what others have done and I want to do the quality justice. Part of it is that I've become a bit overwhelmed with everything I've purchased. So, here's to getting more of what I have assembled (because otherwise I'm likely to repurchase a model/box by mistake) and to getting some of it painted. While it's unlikely I'll have anyone to start playing this with for some time, now is a breather to get at least two armies painted up so that I'm ready to go once I can go out and play again.

Kudos to Corvus Belli
Now that I’ve assembled a decent portion of CB’s catalog I have to say kudos to them. While all of the minis have excellent detail, it’s easy to tell the older sculpts from the new—not so much in the sculpting (although if you go far enough back there is) but in the ease of assembly. It’s clear that they really have progressed and developed their technique. It means I can really look forward to their new releases…because, you know, I obviously need more Infinity.
Also, out of all the pieces, there was only one arm and one full mini missing. I think that’s a pretty decent track record given the number I’ve assembled.
Massive error: PSA
So…this mini came with a thoroughly bent and malformed wavy sword. In all my wisdom I thought “I know, I’ll heat this up and that should make it a lot easier to get it back into shape”. That, at least with a flame, was a truly massive error.
It was the first and last time I’ll try that as pewter (I think that’s what this is?) goes from solid to melted in the blink of an eye. So now, instead of a bent sword, the mini has no sword.
Any suggestions on the best way to create/find & attach a Japanese style sword?
