About the Project
Hobby Challenge 2020, looking through my many (many ?) options for the spring clean and landed on the latest iteration of my original army Chaos Dwarfs! Everyone has that army that is theirs, whether it was the first or the favourite no other army comes quite so close, for the record Chaos Dwarfs are both my first and favourite army ??

Hey folks...it's been a while
Hey y’all, hope everyone is keeping well, it’s been a while.
Thoughtis share some updates and check in on the old OTT community
A few updates to come on this army….
Wanted to play some OnePageRules with these guys with the list above so started with the Flame Spirits
Adding some Bull Centaurs too
How to paint Grim Dark White Armour
The idea behind this is to be quick and easy so there some steps you could add if you were painting a character or alternative methods to get the same effect but I’ve gone for the easiest and quickest way here
1.
Over primer I’ve airbrushed Zandri Dust, this will be the base colour so I’m mainly making sure to hit from below and get the underneath with this, you can also use this through a spray can if you’d like to avoid the airbrush
2.
I’ve then used Pallid Wytch Flesh, this is concentrated from above to leave some of the previous Zandri Dust underneath. Again you could use an alternate white through a spray can for the same effect
3.
Using a sponge I add Rhinox Hide, keeping mainly to the edges and areas that would get hit the most, it’s before this you could also add some decals or finer details so they too would get chipped by the sponge effect here
4.
I’ve used an Armour wash (a mix of about 50% Agrax Earthshade, 30% Nuln Oil 10% Leviathan Purple and 10% Coelia Greenshade) in all the details of the armour like rivets and joints, not being too neat as this will help dull down the brightness of the white base
5.
Mournfang Brown is then watered down heavily and washed/stippled over the areas that have been chipped and also some other random areas to again bring down the brightness of the initial white (I added further details where water may gather and run down after I took the picture at the top of the screen)
More Great Taurus
Went back to the big guy yesterday to redo the wings (second attempt at these, wasn’t happy with the first) and look to do a bit of work on his skin too, again looking to keep it relatively simple to help with finishing this stuff ?
Just like the horns on the earlier Castellan I like the raw look of the wings and the fact that they look it’s painful just to spread those them out all adding the bitterness of their demeanor.
Thinking again about some kind of narrative behind this army ala @HashutsBlessing ‘s good advice I think the pain they are constantly living with is the driving force behind a lot of their actions. Much like the Emperor designed Darth Vader suit to ensure he is in a constant state of discomfort and pain. The pain these guys are suffer is also the result of being manipulated by the one that rules over them…the one and only Astrogoth will eventually head up this army with a conversion I’ve wanted to do for a long long time.
But lots of work to do before that one
With or Without the glow?
I’m not sure if this detracts from the scheme or enhances it ?
Basic update
Finally got around to basing what I’ve painted so far, these are the Age of Sigmar bases but I’m keeping them not glued in so that I can do some scenic Kings of War bases too ??
