About the Project
With the release of Blood and Valor I have revisited my old collection is Great War miniatures originally used with Warhammer historicals Great War ruleset and giving them a spring clean and looking at the difference between the two systems

1918 Germans
Looking at the force lists for 1918 I have plenty of German infantry to form a platoon but I could do with some stormtroopers 
The list has heavy machine guns but two entry lists so one can be made elite which isn't something you see in most games
Minethrower
Anti tank rifle. The Germans have some interesting specialist units. Interesting that the German list doesn't include cavalry unlike French and British 
Flamethrowers
I have a lot of German officers. I felt this chap could make a good spotter for artillery 
German ranks were a bit rare but they can use captured British tanks. I need snipers to add to the stormtroopers 1918 British
After picking up the 1918 rule book I thought I'd take a look at the force lists and what I can put together with the minis I already have. Starting either the British here is a rifle platoon that could be one with four units or two smaller platoons with commands
For support I can add a light machine gun unit
Unit with rifle grenades 
Trench raiders
Heavy machine gun 
Male and female tanks 
Armoured car. I have the vast amount of what's needed. I do have cavalry but they are early war so u dojld like yo get a new set of minis. A sniper team. Mortar snd artillery would complete the set. Something for me to look into if I like the rules Russian cavalry
During the black Friday deals I got the stl files from wargames Atlantic for ww1 Russian cavalry to help finish that force. I often have problems printing wargames Atlantic minis especially small items like heads but here you can see the horses legs haven't been successful. I added more supports to get it done.
The kit gives you options for cossack heads and lancers but I wanted to go for a more mounted infantry unit to match the stats in blood and valor 
Ended up with a unit of 12 which is the maximum you can field.
Something a bit different-Mexicans
Firelock games have released a free pdf of rules for the Mexican revolution fir Blood and valor. I already had some Mexican federal troops although I've had them so long I can't recall where I got them. I have enough for three infantry units and a command.
I immediately printed this chap from knuckle duster as my machine gun team. Obviously it needs to be mounted on a tripod but it's more fun this way.Imperial Russian Army
Some inspiration for infantry. Because Russia had so many troops some were sent to the western front and thought with the French so it doesn't have yo be all Eastern front. My two boxes made 3 infantry units
I looked at the scheme for sappers to be my close assault unit. The paler uniform helps them stand out. I also gave them all gas masks
Guard units using grenadiers as an influence so I gave them all helmets instead of caps 
I love the machine gun crews I got free with my box sets. All Russian machine guns are green
The two Atlantic box sets and 2 machine guns covers a wide variety of units for blood and valor. I'm just missing a trench mortar and a cavalry unit. I might look at the digital Atlantic collection for this
Russian force
I picked up two boxes of wargames Atlantic Russians at salute. Two boxes covers all the infantry I'll need for Blood and valor imperial Russians
I gave 2 squads of infantry and this is my trench raiding unit. I love the masks
Elite Guard unit in helmets and grenades
Command unit. The Atlantic boxsets have one officer on every sprue which is too many in my opinion but I have one leading each specialist squad
Sniper
I picked up the boxes from Tangent miniatures at salute who gave away a free heavy machine gun team with each box which was a great bonusBritish forces in Palestine
One completed wargames Atlantic box of British for the Middle East theatre. Chance to try out the wolsley sun helmets 
Field Guns
Rebased my early war field guns now I have rules to use them. Early war names more sense fir these units as it was the last time fied guns set up and fired as they did in earlier wars in sight of the enemy
