With the release of Blood and Valor I have revisited my old collection is Great War miniatures originally used with Warhammer historicals Great War ruleset and giving them a spring clean and looking at the difference between the two systems

British Reinforcements
My late war British have been missing some crucial elements so I have picked up some new minis from Great War miniatures. A HMG team some Lewis gunners to add to my rifle units A Highlander and Gurkha units both good for close combat
Painting started1916
As a diversion from the usual ww1 scenarios I went for the Easter Rising. Footsore do a few Irish fighters but most are Perry miniatures Mafeking Boar war minus I thought would work. I thought about doing this after reading about the Sherwood Foresters being sent to Dublin during the rising. They were new recruits who signed up to fight the Germans and had never fired a shot before. They suffered terribly in street fighting as they uslessly charged buildings in the open an got cut down. We did some games where the Irish had hidden set up.

Kitchener the one command figure who should always be pointing. I'll be using this Giants in miniature figure as a standard officer for my British forces

Mostly rebasing. Repaired chipped paint and adding wire to squad leaders.

The bases are now a little more muddy. I've also picked out the bayonet tassel colours dirtied a few trousers and painted a couple if chaps in green tunics to represent the odd colour difference in available tunics.

Interesting to see how colour schemes varied due to what fabric was available. So not all grey
Need to add more texture to the bases and maybe some different coloured uniforms
German machine guns
They were chipped and needed repainting and put in a round base with lots of mud
Late war British
My updated British force is still missing some machine guns but these chaps have been rebased and repaired 
I made some dead trees for fallout recently so I thought I’d see how they look in no man’s land. I’ll start repairing my Germans before I get the machine guns I need for the British.
