Claudine
Next up due to another impressive debut performance is Claudine. Apologies due to drunkenness the photo log may be slightly erratic on this one!Right, she has a white shirt and I can never get white to look right. A friend of mine has been painting stormtroopers recently and has suggested using gloss varnish to help settle the wash in the recesses so I’m going to give it a crack
Okay folks, gloss trick didn’t work so back to painting a base coat and using a white highlight with a wash. FYI there is a brainmatter beige drybrush in here somewhere but forgot the pic!Another tidy up of the base and she’s done
Sarge
And Sarge is ready to lead the team!
Red Hawk
Shocking I know but there’s TWO drybrushes at this stage, the Brainmatter Beige didn’t show up on the ammo box so went in with white.
Next up the washes, there is also a flesh wash on the skin which I forgot to snap!
Quick Matt coat and she’s ready to join the team!
O'Reilly
Okay technical time, i need to blend the mutated arm into the skin colour. Was thinking i’d try sponging on the red to blur the colour change but soon realised its way to small an area to get into so scrapped that plan.
So using a small drybrush i did a a few layers of dry drybrushing the colour change first using Chaotic Red, once i was happy it was defined enough i then came from the skin side with Barbarian flesh. Pretty pleased with the end result and didnt take long at all.
Quick tidy up on the base and he’s ready to go ‘Hammer Time’ on some Germans!
Brick
Now for the washes
Balls, just realised I forgot his hair, must be getting late! (Or drunk) quick touch up and its sorted Base tidy and a Matt coat and we are done!
Paint one and fifteen more will take its place...
Now the core heroes are done they need some goons to kill! As there are sixteen soldiers in the core set I want to find a scheme that’s quick and easy.ideally the primer will do most of the work so I’ve gone with Army Painter ‘Uniform Grey’
I’m thinking of getting them all to the drybrush step and then hitting them all with a dark tone dip, brushed on. Will still need a soft tone wash on the wood though. Was thinking of flesh toning the face but I want to keep them gaunt looking so I think dark tone there as well. Now a Matt coat an done! Pleased with how he turned out. Very few steps so should be able to get them all done very quickly.
