About the Project
I recently picked up the big Stalingrad box set from Warlord Games for Bolt Action and due to lockdown and being in isolation I've decided to crack on and attempt to finish all the content... even the terrain! I will try my best to update this project and add plenty of pictures to share my progress with you guys. Hope you enjoy following along with me!

A quick update…
I’ve started building the German infantry! I’m using quite a lot of arms and weapons from other German kits I have, as well as some soviet great coat arms, to make up for the lack of early war parts on the German Winter Infantry sprues. This is proving to be a lot of fun as a I have a wealth of options to create some great looking poses.

I have not been able to spend as much time on hobby recently as I would like, but nevertheless I have managed to build all of the German Infantry from the box! I’ve done some interesting conversions to keep the poses fresh and different…
Getting Some Paint On The Landser...
Hey everyone, another quick update!
Over the last couple of weeks I’ve managed to squeeze in some time to start painting up my German infantry! I am using a simple and quick method that is very similar to how I painted up the Soviets.

German Infantry Painting Guide
Hi everyone,
What follows is my quick and simple painting guide for churning out beleaguered German Infantrymen for the ruins of Stalingrad…
(Apologies, I forgot to include the paints in the photos like I did in my Soviet Infantry guide…)
1. First, I prime the figures black, this is essential for the style of the scheme.
2. Next, I liberally dry brush the uniform with German Fieldgrey. I also hit the webbing and boots slightly.
3. The next step is to base coat the equipment: bread bags Khaki, bed rolls and mess tins Green Grey, gas mask cases OD Green and the felt on the water canteens Flat Brown.
4. Then I paint any wood with Flat Brown such as rifle stocks and entrenching tool handles. I also paint any metal with German Grey.
5. Next, I paint the flesh and any weapon slings with Beige Brown. 
6. Then I tackle the headgear: steel helmets German Camo Green, helmet covers Khaki or Camo Beige and field caps Fieldgrey. 
7. Now its time for a wash! This step really ties the paint job together and hides a thousand sins. I use Agrax Earthshade and liberally apply it all over the models.
8. The finals steps, before basing, are to highlight the uniform with another dry brush of Fieldgrey, this time I try to avoid the webbing and leave it darker. I also pick out the flesh with Cadian Fleshtone... and done! They look a little rough and ready but that's the idea!

Hi all, not bolt action related but I’ve just finished reading this novel; Break Out At Stalingrad by Heinrich Gerlach. I would highly recommend this to anyone with an interest in the battle! Although it is a novel I believe the author himself took part in the battle and was wounded and captured in the Cauldron, making for a very authentic and atmospheric read. Armour!
Another update! I have built and primed both the Marder and the T34. I decided to magnetise the Russian tank commander so he pops in and out of the turret.
Now to start painting!
