Quadruple post...
When the projects system posts the same thing four times….
Cassandra Nova
Now I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about Cassandra Nova. But I do know that she is Charles Xavier’s psychically linked multiversal twin. So I put her in Charles’ outfit, obviously.
Omega Red
Watch a lot of old X-Men cartoons, get inspired to paint the villains! Stuck with a traditional scheme on this big guy, he was fun to paint.
Daughters of Thanos
I really needed to get the Daughters of Thanos as the Guardians just don’t feel complete without them. Then I found out that Atomic Mass were going to repackage them along with stuff I’d already bought so rushed out to grab a box while I still could!
The one thing that bugged me was that I wasn’t feeling the traditional colour schemes. Nebula’s purple outfit wasn’t doing it for me and everyone paints Gamora in the same white armour.
For Nebula I drew on her Avengers Endgame outfit of red and brown tones for something different.
Gamora I had to dig a bit deeper. Some comics lean into green and gold, and there is a videogame skin that has the Guardians in gold armour, so I leaned into that instead.
Guardians of the Galaxy
Mister Sinister
Ever completely forgot about something then wonder how you did? With X-Men ’97 coming out I talked my wife into revisiting the original cartoon to see how it holds up.
The answer is well enough that we are now deep into season 3 (despite the animators clearly struggling with the concept of things being a consistent scale), but what really struck me was how Mister Sinister is pretty much the primary antagonist and that I had completely forgotten about him yet remember lots of other things.
So I decided to start an X-Men villains cabal list and picked him up.
Core set - Assembled!
And there we have it, another core set of another game ready to go. Now I’ll just have to get some games in and have a think about adding to it at some point!
