About the Project

Black Scorpion Miniatures Highlanders were purchased as a love thing. Wanted them wanted to paint them and eventually field them somehow. Then Joseph came to the rescue. DeathShip One is a fun looking game. Fight with any era's miniatures to take on 5 rooms of death to say that you beat the ship and a promise of gaining their freedom. The project gave me the excuse wanted to buy a Wargames Atlantic Harvesters box to create bad guys for the game.

Happy with how the warband looks. No idea how it will play in game. Seems that naming them would be unnecessary, as few if any will survive. Happy with how the warband looks. No idea how it will play in game. Seems that naming them would be unnecessary, as few if any will survive.
The warband gives me all the elements allowed in a Low-Tech force. As this is a deliberately hard game to beat, why leave anything out that the game designer put in there to help? 1x Leader, 1x Seer, 1x Healer, X3 Shooters (minimum you have to take) and 4 Fighters. The warband gives me all the elements allowed in a Low-Tech force. I read the warband composition rules and realised I have under done it on the shooters. I will keep this band as it looks, but drop bows on the basing of two of my fighters to make it easier at a glance to see which stat line is applicable.I read the warband composition rules and realised I have under done it on the shooters. Painted this model as part of a Rangers of Shadow Deep warband. He's another Black Scorpion Miniature and as such scales perfectly with the rest.Painted this model as part of a Rangers of Shadow Deep warband. He's another Black Scorpion Miniature and as such scales perfectly with the rest.

Tried to imitate my family tartan on this one. It's close enough that I am happy. The shield has the stars of the Douglas clan, but I imagine this lot are pre- Bannockburn highlanders so there would be no heart and crown on the shield. I went with a cross instead and call him Jimmy the Pious.Tried to imitate my family tartan on this one. It's close enough that I am happy. Healer for my warband was a V&V resin Viking. The shield and pouches are from the Barbarian II Frostgrave sprue. The bloody cloth in the hand is cut up shards of sprue. The bandage on his right hip is a tight spiral of sprue. I decided that I would limit the woad to just the healer and the Seer.Healer for my warband was a V&V resin Viking.
