About the Project

Taking a break from Moonstone painting for a little while and decided to paint my Chaos Dwarf team for Blood Bowl. I have since decided to just make it a full blood bowl project as I have a few other models that need painting. Hopefully this project will help encourage me to get up to date.

So finally got the Gnome star players which were 2 thirds of the missing figures.

the only missing figure pack is the Josef Bugman but I can live with that.

I found these 2 miniatures about 80% finished despite buying them years ago.

A quick update on a few details and I now consider them done.

the difference in the quality of the miniatures between now and is noticeable but they will do.

Troll for my goblin team

My Goblin team needed a 2nd troll to complete the roster.

I decided to try and paint just using a specific set of paints, and try and use all 12 colours.

The only allowance was metals as I can’t be arsed to do NMM.

The final results were alright but I didn’t like not using citadel paints – I know there are better paints but the habit of using them over the years is hard to break.

A belated update.   Second attempt to submit this entry.

After getting a few more models for my underworld team, I painted them up realised that the colours didn’t match.

Sigh.

I repainted the colours on the armour and clothes to match.

This now finishes off all my official GW miniatures for bloodbowl except for the 3 star players that I can’t get from GW as out of stock.

I am expecting some third party big guys  to finish off some of the teams.  So hopefully will move on to another project soon

After a brief diversion painting some naked kingdom death models, I am returning to Blood Bowl to finally complete a project.

First up is Jordell Freshbreeze the wardancer star player.  The model had some fiddly bits and I am not happy with the build but the model itself is alright.

After priming wraithbone, I then put a sepia wash to help highlight some of the features.

Starting with the skin I used Cadian Fleshtone as the base colour.  I then added some Bugmans to that colour to paint in the recesses for some depth.

Next I added a few layers mixing cadian fleshtone and Kislev flesh, then Kislev flesh and flayed one flesh.

I still need to add a highlight of pure Flayed One flesh and a little more detail to be added to the face.

In person it does show more of a highlight than my photos.

For the rest of the colour scheme, I may follow the GW scheme or match him to my Wood Elf team which is Red & White.  I will obviously make a choice in due course.

I had thought that I had essentially completed by blood bowl collection, so decided to sort everything in to an order so it was all findable.

What I found is that I had too much stuff, but still didn’t actually have everything and not everything as completed.  Sigh

The outstanding things to buy are:

an ogre

2 trolls

a rat ogre

3 star players that are out of stock at GW

I also have 3 miniatures unpainted:

A Skaven gutter runner for my underworld team.

A troll for my chaos team

Jordell Freshbreeze star player

Guess I had better crack on with it then

Definitely preferred this model to the last one, even though they got painted at the same time.
