About the Project
Taking a break from Moonstone painting for a little while and decided to paint my Chaos Dwarf team for Blood Bowl. I have since decided to just make it a full blood bowl project as I have a few other models that need painting. Hopefully this project will help encourage me to get up to date.

I don’t like this model, something seems off about it and I couldn’t wait to get it finished.
i looked at the official colour scheme and kept it close but I think I may have to revisit this model later down the line.
The refs
I found my 2 referees that came with the boxed games half painted. Not sure why I didn’t finish them but after a quick touch up and basing, they are complete.
My gnome team
I had been putting off this team for so long I could probably have put it as a spring clean challenge. I haven’t been looking forward to how small the mini’s are.
The painting went ok with a few setbacks.
The first setback is that I went for yellow, again. But with my chaos dwarf team turning out alright, I thought why not. I decided to try the Army painter range and although I struggled with the coverage, after enough layers it looked ok.
My next setback was when I decided to cover the miniatures in Agrax earthshade which I forgot to thin down. Sigh. It didn’t go well, blotchy uneven coverage and so many pools of brown. I eventually had to repaint the yellow using Averland sunset and highlight up from there. All of which would have been fine if I just did a practice miniature rather than 14 figures. Let’s see if I learn from this.
The next setback is more of a disappointment rather than it going wrong. On a morning run I ran past a tree full of blossoms, which inspired me to easily differentiate my treemen with one having pink blossom and the other green leaves.
The leaves are alright but the blossom didn’t end up white enough and I can’t now be bothered to redo.
i still need to do the tokens but they can be done as I am doing other stuff.
i also found the 2 referees that came with the last box set that I only half completed and then left. So next up I will get those completed
I have 6 star players from the GW range to do. I only have 4 of them as the other 2 are out of stock. I will look to compete what I have and then I will have finished GW blood bowl. Sort of.
lets not mention 3rd party figures or dungeon bowl and we can ignore them
The giant
So finally got my base for the giant, and based it accordingly.
My photography does seem to have regressed again.
A giant
I have also mostly completed a giant. He is fully printed but did not have an appropriate base.
Once received, he will be based up accordingly.
Ivan ‘the animal’ Deathshroud
Next completed was The Animal. Not really an undead player but later on he year I may crack out a team he can be used in for Halloween……or maybe not.
Grashnak Finished
Grashnak has been completed.
Paint wise I managed to only use 2 Citadel paints (3 technically) and those were washes, so they don’t really count.
I did use Warplock bronze on the digit on the base but hated it so repainted over with the Two Thin Coats plate armour.
It does look better in real life as opposed to the photos
I believe the model is better in real life than the pictures show. I am pleased with the results.
Also it was interesting to try and use the different paints. I have so many but habit always makes me grab the citadel ones as I dirt of know the better combinations. Going old school and picking a colour and mixing black and white to create shadows and highlights was interesting.
Next up is Skitter StabStab. I may just paint him normally.
