Aeon Trespass: Odyssey (base game, expansion and godform miniatures)

About the Project
ATO is my first paint project where I am primarily using acrylic paints and it took me a long time to do research on paint recipes and techniques to get the results I wanted (or close to wanting). I can imagine many other people being in the same situation I was in, namely wanting to paint good looking minis but not knowing where to begin or which colors to use. So, I decided to make a paint guide for ATO (cycles 1-5 + godform miniatures) in the hopes of helping people out. This guide is heavily inspired by the paint guide made by Lawnor here on this website. His miniatures are awesome and I recommend you check him out as well!

This is one of the coolest looking titans in the base game in my opinion. The body, the base, the pose, the vibe it is all there making the miniature really stand out in my opinion. The skin didnt really come out as I wanted as I went a bit heavy on the Guilliman Flesh wash. You will see when I get to the godform miniatures where I use the same skin recipe they are a bit lighter. So lesson learned and applied in the future 😉

Firestarter
This one came out better than expected. Took a while to get the green leather straps right. Should have pushed the brown tint on it a bit more if you look at the art of this titan, but I still think it came out great!

Mazerunner
After painting some primordials I switched to painting some titans again. Now the legs of this titan were annoying to paint because of all the straps across the legs and the patches of skin in between.

Abysswatcher
Painted this miniature partially at the same time as the Nietzschean as the recipe for the skin is the same. Finished it after I was done with the Nietzschean. Happy with how this turned out. Looks quite the same as the art.

Nietzschean
I thought I could paint the Nietzschean quite quickly, but the fire effect on the Nietzschean took way longer than I thought. I used GW Mephiston Red first but it looked off. It was too dark so I went with a lighter red, namely AK Deep Red.

Cyclonus
This was an interesting one. I painted the skin of Cyclonus only using layering which created a good look if I say so myself. I wanted to wash it with some contrast paint, but decided against it as I thought it already looked good enough. You will see for the other primordials (like Hermesian Pursuer for example) I did use blending, but for this miniature I decided against it. This is the only primordial where I didnt use blending for the skin.

• Stipple GW Tau Light Ochre on the edges
• Dust drybrush: GW Screaming Skull (highlight the edges and lightly everything else)
Hermesian Pursuer
This is one of the miniatures Im most proud of, because this is the first miniature I practiced blending and glazing on. I have to admit that this miniature is a bit rough around the edges, because you can see some streaks on it, but it looks great to me. It took me some time to get the miniature looking like this but I am very pleased with it.
