About the Project

Anachrony features a unique two-tiered worker placement system. To travel to the Capital or venture out to the devastated areas for resources, players need not only various specialists (Engineers, Scientists, Administrators, and Geniuses) but also Exosuits to protect and enhance them — and both are in short supply. The game is played in 4-7 turns, depending on the time when the looming cataclysm occurs — unless, of course, it is averted! The elapsed turns are measured on a dynamic timeline. By powering up the Time Rifts, players can reach back to earlier turns to supply their past "self" with resources. Each Path has a vastly different objective that rewards it with a massive amount of victory points when achieved. The Paths' settlements will survive the impact, but the Capital will not. Whichever Path manages to collect most points will be the new seat for the Capital, thus the most important force left on the planet...

This is one of the factions added through the expansions. Looks cool. Mostly painted this one with metallics. Maybe should have pushed the contrast more. Still came out good in my opinion.

Came out pretty well, but not as well as the Seeder (see below) in my opinion at least. Still, I am a pretty slow painter and with this project I wanted to paint a bit faster. I could have chosen Slapchop (zenithal highlight and contrast paint) to paint these minis, but that would defeat the purpose of experimenting and trying out enamel washes. So I wanted to paint fast(er) with acrylic paints. 36 miniatures in 6 weeks is pretty good when I look at how slow I usually paint.

This one turned out really well. I really wanted to put the enamel wash to the test and see how well it blends all the colors together, but also see how much of a rugged look it would give these miniatures. So, I used some simple layering techniques and applied the enamel wash and it turned out really well. After the wash I applied some simple highlights and painted the base black. Enamel washes are really easy to apply and they do blend the colors together. Happy with the end result.

Since last year I committed myself to painting all miniatures of my boardgames. Well, almost all, because some miniatures dont have a gameplay purpose. Aside from Aeon Trespass which I have painted (see project: https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1921418/#snav) this year I also wanted to paint Anachrony. This game has 6 classes (4 base game and 2 added through expansions) with each class having 6 miniatures for a total of 36 miniatures. Finished this project in 6 weeks.

Now I started painting miniatures with acrylic paints since oktober last year. Through my research online I saw people talking and painting with enamel washes. For Aeon Trespass it didnt make sense to me to try enamel washes, but the miniatures of this game are exosuits, so to me it made sense to try enamel washes and learn how to use them. People said that they are easy to use and very forgiving. Those people were right XD
