Star wars (Battle for Hoth ) board game

So for Christmas My wife saw this game and thought I would like this to play with my grand children. So after a couple of games my grandson suggested that could we paint the figures in the game. so once again a small board game project has begun. So figures washed and left to dry then an undercoat to be applied.

So after a bit of info gathering I decided on a few vehicles that capture the made up nature of this division and the brain behind these vehicles which were largely captured French vehicles then engineered/adapted for the field by an German officer Alfred Becker at Baukommando Becker (Construction Unit Becker). So browsed the old web and decided on these 3d printed models. So my unit will include from right to left…

3 x Hotchkiss H39 based GW H39 7.5 cm Pak 40 ( for anti tank punch),

3 x Unic P107 half track ( Transport)

1  Reihenwerfer  mounted on a Somua mcl tractor ( multi tube mortar)

So washed left to dry and then undercoated with army painter Desert yellow

So basic camo applied using my trusted Ak colour pens once again.

When purchased they came with no crew so out came the bits box and made my own still might for the three Hotchkiss H39 based GW H39 7.5 cm Pak 40 and then undercoated. I might change the heads on three off them to the field cap has these would of been worn due to a radio headset so back to the bits box.

So heads swapped and a quick simple paint job and wash....So heads swapped and a quick simple paint job and wash....

Oh yes just thought i would throw this in here…got side tracked and for some reason I started painting  up a platoon of British Infantry with hard as nails platoon Sergeant, just like Stanley Hollis, then washed and based ???…a who knows why…like Big Gerry says “I can and you cant stop me!”

The 21st Panzer Division was a German armoured division best known for its role in the battles of the North African Campaign from 1941 to 1943 during World War II when it was one of the two armoured divisions making up the Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK). It was first formed as the 5th Light Division in early 1941.By the time it reached Tunis, 21st Panzer had ceased to exist as a cohesive unit and was split up into Battle Groups (Kampfgruppen) Pfeiffer and Gruen. They were subsequently renamed Battle Groups Stenkhoff and Schuette, which took part in the Battle of Kasserine Pass. Major General Von Hulsen surrendered the remnants of the division on 13 May 1943. After Africa, the division was reformed in Europe, where it garrisoned Caen, until 16th field luftwaffe division relieved it of its duty. It was then moved to Paris, where it remained for rehabilitation and garrison duty until the Allied landings at Normandy. The new division's commander was Oberst Edgar Feuchtinger[ who was promoted to Generalmajor on 1 August 1943 and Generalleutenant (equivalent to Major-General) exactly a year later. It was heavily engaged in the fighting at the Normandy beachheads, being the only Panzer division to engage the Allies on the first day.
