Rebellion Unplugged are getting ready to launch their Kickstarter for the return of Tunnels & Trolls! Tunnels & Trolls: A New Age will be coming to Kickstarter on 17th March, giving you a chance to dive back into one of the original Fantasy roleplaying games that shaped the genre.

Tunnels & Trolls: A New Age comes from Scott Malthouse and Chris Bissette and is a reimagining of the classic game. Combat is easy and quick, plus being immediate and thrilling.
"Centuries ago, the skies turned black and the trolls awoke. The stone behemoths ravaged the land, empires fell, and their technology and magic was lost. But one day the sun rose again. The trolls turned to stone once more and their great bodies reforged the continents. The survivors rebuilt from the ashes. But below the surface, the riches of the past remained buried. Welcome to the Trollmark!"
Your characters can be normal folk just getting by or fated heroes, diving into adventures in dark tunnels and dungeons as you face down ancient trolls and powerful magic!

Fans of the original game will be happy to know that the traditional exploding dice make a return. You'll be rolling pools of dice for tests, getting bonuses for successful doubles that allow for stunts and clever play. Solo adventuring is also back in the mix with Tunnels & Trolls Solo Sidequests. If you can't get your group together, take your character on a sidequest and see what adventure awaits.

Gosh! I feel old.
I remember that gold rulebook with illustrations by, IIRC, the hugely talented Liz Danforth – she seemed to illustrate everything at the time. I always felt sorry for the designers of T&T who produced the first Solo Dungeons and hence the first ‘Choose Your Own Adventures’. Yet their ideas were quickly seized upon across the Atltantic by a couple by the name of Livingstone and Jackson. The latter pair made a mint with their ‘Fighting Fantasy’ books. I wonder of the designers of T&T made anything like that?
Nice to see an old game back in print, but won’t be pre-ordering via Kickstarter as the platform offers zero consumer protection.
