That was intresting.
Is it a 35pt or 25pt list? Video says one thing, article another.
Just added it all up and it’s a 25pt list.
Having played a fair few 35 pts now I hope its 35pts…best watch vid now
You see Darrell always wants to give some tactics based on his 40k knowledge…
Haley’s Temporal Barrier is very useful. However, it means that Haley will be near the front. Further, what with arcane vortex, upkeep on an arcane shield, and a chain lightning here or there it does not leave a lot of focus for jacks. If she is near the front a lancer is just a waste of points. With the lack of models you are fielding Jr will become a fast target for assassination. Get rid of him and the hunter (save him for a 35 point list). Strangeways is a good match up with the defender. I disagree with Andy, keep the squire; a 16″ control zone really makes a difference with Temporal Barrier. Throw in a couple of infantry units.
Some fun things:
Percursors with attachment (blitz + precursor mini feat + charge is fun)
Long gunners or ATGMs are great. ATGM with deadeye can’t be beat
If you drop the defender you could run stormblade and stormclad. Proxy them out; works pretty well with haley.
Well, I never actually thought they’d do a video on my list. Even though they mixed up the points values and spelt my name wrong, I still feel pretty chuffed 🙂
My basic plan was to try and get as much FOCUS as possible for Haley with the Squire and ease some of the pressure on her by using a Journeyman to control the Hunter.
I was thinking that the Hunter + Journeyman would both be in cover or terrain on a flank and the Journeyman would be sitting 12 inches away (due to the extended control range). I figured he’d be relatively safe if you put him in a sniper nest and make it annoying to get to. Also the fewer ‘jacks Haley has to control the more FOCUS she has for using Temporal Barrier, Arcane Shield and maybe the occasional Chain Lightning.
I suppose I could swap something out for another Defender like Andy said but I’d be uncomfortable about putting a 9 point heavy ‘jack with the Journeyman. Seems a bit risky to me and running both on Haley might tax her FOCUS too much. Especially on Feat turn.
I can see how the Lancer would be fairly useless with pHaley now that it’s been brought up. I’ll probably ditch it.
I know Andy was under the impression that it was a 35pt list. I’m wondering if his point about bulking out a list with units is still valid at 25 points. Any advice on that one?
