The new campaign book will open a lot of new and interesting possibilities to the game play of infinity. Can’t wait to get it into my hands and read trough.

A campaign system is what this game has needed for a LONG time. The lack of missions and objective had me put down this great game years ago. Glad to see this, might even get me playing Infinity again.

Ohh its a bad day to be my wallet. Recently dropped Warhammer/40K as the model count hit the wallet too hard (and the boredom of painting) so I got into Warmachine/Hordes (and so have my mates which is more unusual) but I keep getting drawn into other games like Infinity and Malifaux… Must resist.
I’m just a collector at heart and a gamer when the time presents itself, so when companies begin stepping up their game i cannot help but look… and spend. If given the opportunity I would gladly pick up another system.
The pre-order on CB website says that the expected shipping date is “the end of September”.

This campaign is amazing. I have never, ever been as excited about a product as I am now. One question. How did you make that white table with the great geometric designs on it?
I mean the surface itself. One of our biggest challenges right now is finding good cheap ways to have very Infinityesque table surfaces under our terrain.
I’d suggest stores that cater to architects. I got a few sheets of plasticard with imprinted hexagons in one and nothing is more Infinity than hexagons.
This is a problem I’ve been having too, didn’t think of architect stores cheers 🙂

Well, it sounds really interesting. Can’t wait for the ‘exclusive BoW mission’ this week. Maybe even before the Spec Ops themselves are revealed there could be some sample use for their rules using the already existing ‘character models’ such as Joan d’arc or Wallace, just to give players a taste of what character development and ‘real death’ shall be like in the new book?
I cannot wait to get this book in my hands, this will keep me happily gaming for some time.

By now, with the release fo the Campaign book, the use of Spec Ops is limited to Campaign book rules. While I’ve been hearing about some saucy ideas of the use of this miniatures in the future, there is nothing “solid” or “official” about it… yet.

Great, Infinity has excellent background. One grounded in strict science fiction. There is a.i., hackers and a background of many current nations in the future. There is no “magic” or otherwise fluff pasted in this background to patch up things.
Great job Corvus Belli. Keep it up!
If you haven’t already played, do it! You will not regret it. It’s a fantastic game, figs, and price. I’m very much looking forward to this book. I think it will also really help CB/Infinity break out more popularity.

Love what I’ve seen so far. I hope that the spec ops character for Yu Jing is usable in a JSA list, since I don’t play any non-Japanese Yu Jing.

I really like the idea of making your own hero. By the end it’s like the hero has been to hell and back, living to tell the tale. The way it was layed out, the hero doesn’t seem to have much use after the campaign, outside friendly games. Other than that, this stuff is golden!
If it’s mysterious, it must be terrain, and I want that MAS terrain before you as a prize:D

I’m new to the setting and game of Infinity, but I love the miniatures. Picked up a few and painted them some weeks ago and I have to say the detail on them are killer to a painters eyes, yet if done right look amazing. I primarily run RPG games and at the moment my group is trying out Eclipse Phase (please give it a look if you’ve never heard of it). These miniatures are perfect for the setting, but it also makes me realize there are not a lot of minis out there that have a basic sci-fi look. Try to find a guy with standard sci-fi clothes and not wielding some large BFG and you see what I mean. Looking forward to learning more about the setting and the system itself…and I’m especially wanting to know more about the new faction!

I’m stocked for one that the Aleph Spec. Opp is female since I my self am a female player. Second off the whole campaign system is going to be a wonderful breath of fresh air. I have so far enjoyed the world very much so and look forward to this new content. Also the book preorder civi mini is kind of a nice add on.

Finally it is time for me to get back to Infinity! The campaign system sounds really cool.. Although, I have a question. At the moments we are only in two playing Infy here, is it possible to run a campaign only with two armies? I mean, how does the campaign tree would work with just to (possible three) opponents?

Just a few questions for the corvus guys…
1. Will there be a poster available of the campaign book cover?
2. Are the missions suitable for Tournaments?
1. Yes, probably a poster of the Spec-Ops cover will be done.
2. The Campaign book mission can be played at tournaments if the players want to do it, of course. By the way, I think that the next ITS season will include some vanilla/generic missions easier for all the players (veterans and rookies) and not as “specialist troops demanding” as the Campaign book are.

I have to say, although our main game is 40K, and I really like 6th edition now I’ve played a few games, its this book thats excited me this year, we only started playing infinity after the last BOW infinity week, but as a set of game rules, and as a model collection, Infinity is probably the best on the market in my view.
The thing that really stands out to me from this overview is how well thought out everything seems to be. Well done to all.
I am delighted on the campaign book on how it advances the gameplay how it introduces a new way to play the game, on what it brings forward, but more importantly, I am amazed on the solutions of old problems on running a campaign with linked scenarios experience and balance.
I am blown away on how simple yet elegant and clever the campaign system solution CB put forward is.
I really cannot wait to get that book in my hands.

I’m really excited about the campaign book release!! Always is better play games with a story that without it. Missions, experience points and possibilities multiplies the variables on a Infinity game and forces us to take complex decissions.

Wow, perfect timing, considering I decided to start INFINITY 2 weeks ago and just now got my first set of Ariadna minis.
Though I think I’d much rather build a 450pts army list, and then allow 300 to be taken from that per mission. Or maybe make it even tougher, just 1 300pts list to work with throughout the campaign. Makes me think more of a tight knit group of specialists heavily relied upon by command to get stuff done. Plus, makes life more challenging.

Man, I wish the international shipping rates on Corvus Belli webstore weren´´t so painful. I looked into ordering the book to get bonus figure, but I´d have to pay as much as I´m paying for the book as shipping… I´ll have to wait until Wayland or Maelstrom make the book available and hopefully go and make the figure promotion as well… If not, I´ll just have to live without it, it seems. A bit hard wargaming as a brazilian. At least I have people and a dedicated place to play now.

Two questions on the spec ops.
Will they be useable outside the campaign?
Since they come with different parts will we end up buying multiples to make different versions throughout the campaign?

I have been hovering on the edge of getting into infinity for a couple of weeks and have held off to see what the campaign and new faction bring, after seeing this campaign I am definitely starting infinity my biggest problem is picking a faction they are all superb looking figures. I was draw strongly to pan o and the range of options and sectorials in particular the knights. But now Ariadne is the favourite with the character each fig has sculpted into it,but I keep looking at ca and aleph decisions decisions and I don’t know anything about the new faction yet. Really looking forward to infinity week 2 and making my purchases at the end of it.

Infinity is great as there is no Uberfaction, just pick the faction you like the look of and want to paint or the theme you want to pursue. This book is going to make it all the more enjoyable.

Not sure about campaign, but lack of missions was one of the main weaknesses of infinity, which had to be solved by players themselves so hopefully this will be solved now.
The worst thing they could have done is add a new faction. It will take me forever to buy all the great stuff that they have already, let alone more great stuff from a new faction.
Can’t wait for all the cool stories that will be created through playing the campaign book.

I’m very excited for the new book. I’m curious though, is 4 the minimum number of players needed to play a campaign? Do you need an even number? Is there any limit to the armies involved? My immediate circle of gaming buddies only includes two other Infinity players, both of whom play CA (though they have other armies too), so we may need to recruit some more newbies if we want to get a campaign started.

Really looking forward to seeing what the campaign book brings, slowly learning the intricacies of this game and enjoying it a great deal so hoping the campaign brings a few interesting twists.
If I do get the book I will most likely be using the auto resurrect option only because I won’t have enough models for replacements. Otherwise I would totally go hard core and let the dice roll as it will. This books sounds like a great soure of ideas even for other wargames.

The narrative campaign system sounds very nice. I definitely wat to try a campaign in ‘hard-core’ mode. Can’t wait to get my hands on the book.
I’m wondering though if investing in a spec ops won’t be a bit too risky compared to the tech-tree bonuses.
And how will games between victors and loosers play out? Won’t succesful armies be too overpowering against armies who were less lucky (or smart)?

The campaign system seems to be really original and dynamic and, imho, I think it will brings interesting missions challenges to have the opportunity to upgrade our teams with the victory points.
