The Blood Angels Get A Sanguine Strike Company!
January 2, 2015 by brennon
Games Workshop haven't forgotten about their Blood Angels and Warhammer 40,000 however in 2015. In an addition to their webstore they've got the Sanguine Strike Company...
In this set you get some rather hard hitting additions to the Blood Angel army. A Blood Angel Librarian in Terminator Armour, A Terminator Assault Squad, A Stormraven Gunship and a Furioso Dreadnought. Not bad if you want some elite reinforcements for your boys in blood red.
I'm a big fan of the character dreadnoughts that the Blood Angels can take to the battlefield so it would be cool to see someone go unbound and make a whole list of rather impressive walkers.
What do you think?

Well that sure looks like interesting box.
105 pounds, surely that will have me playing wh40k in no time, rulebook and armylist included?
Thats what other companies can offer anyway, how about you GW?
OMG lol. Really?
You are aware that GW actually do have a box set on the market with minor army list and full rulebook which is actually is uncontested in terms of sheer value for money (less than half price per model).
But how much more am i expected to buy to REALLY play the game proper? yeah thought so ..
This box set basically gives you the Dreadnaught for free. Before you assume it’s a good piece of kit … it saving is £27 I believe (buy it with 25% off and you’re getting a decent product for the money you put down) –
but, as seems to be the case, this is more than likely a LIMITED RUN – despite them not telling you so (a LOT of their good value-for-money army box sets are just vanishing from the site). Before you start insulting GW for that, keep in mind they’ve also discontinued the BA Battalions… so it’s even worse than you think. Once this box set runs out of production – which offers you NO bread and butter models – you’ll be left with no way of picking up value for money items.
It was very easy to put together a box set with a Tactical Squad, Rhino and some Assault or Death Companies guys – the bread and butter for all collectors, at a price good enough for an average parent to buy. But no, that’s too much to ask for. Does anyone from GW read these forums? It’s SH*T like this, GW that is why you’re screwed financially.
GW are even stupider than they look because it would have been far more profitable to package the new Blood Angel tacticals into a battalion – something people will buy multiple boxes of, rather than this box set (how much money of the price tag went into the design of that box that you’re gonna throw away?) which is a one off buy at most. Who the f*ck wants two of those mono-pose plastic character models?
Now, c’mon. Don’t sugar coat it. Tell us what you really think ;-).
Do you know what’s even worse than all that… the fact that they got rid of the original Sanguinary Priest resin model despite there clearly being a slot for him in the new Codex, in the Command Squads! .. i don’t know why that bothers me more, it just does!
at that price and the fact the dreadnought is basically free, makes it look and sound even poopier … value for money is not in GWs vocabulary
Nothing of my interest, moving on.
Great box set apart from the Stormraven. Why people love this model I will never know. 🙁
