Konflikt ’47: Weird World War Battle Report
August 8, 2016 by dignity
Join us as we fight out a Weird World War Bolt Action Battle Report for Warlord Game's Konflikt '47.
Justin and John are joined by Chez from Warlord Games to fight out a mission where American forces have been tipped off as to the location of a dead drop packed with intel.
The German forces have also got wind of this high priority target and want it for themselves.
Check Out The Weekender XLBS To Win Two Konflikt '47 Starter Sets
Will the allies be able to save their precious secrets or will the Germans win the day?

Super good video – gives an insight into the game which is looking very tempting to get into
great vid guys, and john gets to play Weird War 🙂
raging I missed seeing this yesterday
Was wondering what I was going to watch tonight
Can’t wait for this game. The adaptability of Bolt Action is what makes this such a great combat system.
Love the idea of a bolt action ‘wierd’ expansion, looking forward to seeing how the game turns out
Can’t wait to see more models for this.
Im still waiting for my German starter to arrive. aRrrr cant wait
For your question @dignity
brain – Gehirn
brains – Gehirne
The game looks familiar and new… a great expansion to BA.
The longer I think about it I would say take the shortened Version… Hirn or Hirne … I think zombies wouldn’t waste time with long words
In any case @dignity we would love to hear your totenkorps impression on the next weekender. 🙂
definitely 😀
I have been waiting for so long for this to come out, can’t wait
Really loving the game play of this game so far. @dignity The idea of that german mech flea hopping the battlefield firing its gun XD.
To help you out with some vocabulary for all your wierd war Zombies Justin, brains in German are called “Gehirne”. Have fun with those “No brainer” troops.
Really nice battle report , showed up what the new units can do except the tesla Sherman .Hopefully will have another one to show it off rematch required.
Can’t wait for my book to get here. Will be able to add a piece or two of weird to my US army and get playing. Maybe just maybe there will be a way to take a few of the dust mechs and proxy in at some point. Once the book gets here I will make up a couple of unit cards for ease of use.
Thoroughly enjoyed that, wish Warlord would combine with Modiphius as I would lie to use my achtung cthulhu minis
Isn’t there an Achtung Cthulhu skirmish game in the works? Or did I imagine that? Serious question – I have slept since I read (or dreamt) that.
This?
http://www.modiphius.com/achtung-cthulhu.html
Doubt that they will team up with warlord as they have been working with DUST Studios. Of course everyone that has worked with DUST has gotten burned to some degree so maybe they will be free in a year or two.
Was a really nice play through seamed to really give me an idea of K’47 looking forward to getting some units in the near future.
Looks good might get me interested in world war 2 stuff.
This is certainly looking fun, some real cinematic moments, especially the Mech/Tank fight, and the Zombi brawl, I might just have to pick up the Rulebook.
German for Brains is either Köpfchen, Grips or Grütze, I think that last one would work best for a Zombi mone.
Really looking forward to seeing more of the other armies love the look of the British clockwork soldiers.
Really nice video guys. Thank you.
Can’t wait to be playing Konflikt 47. The new models are really looking great and the fact that we can also use our previous Bolt Action models is a real bonus.
Great job Warlord you guys are right on target.
Great game love the tumb with 7 kills on the tesla sherman that tank is tank of the match;-) Did its best to increase his kill score. I love the way you can use your BA army without a problem and you can slowly build up the weird ww2 side of the army. Hopefully we will see some more action from you guys playing this game
thanks for the complement, I painted that tank myself 🙂
Hmm, not really sure about the cinematic quality of everyone saying that unit has activated so I can ignore it. There’s NO kill like OVERkill! And, it can’t hurt you if it’s dead.
I must have this! Looking really fun.
What a neat twist on the Bolt action game. Can’t wait to see what they do with it in the future.
…………..so it appears resistance is futile ……damn you Justin …. my bank account hates you ………..(punches self in the face) …. “Stop watching Beasts of War videos ” ……. sigh.
Nice job on the tank btw it looks really good
Joine the club 🙂
We have braii— I mean cookies. Yess, cookies.
thanks bud 🙂
The most expensive purchase I made in the past year is my BoW subscription because it led to my involvement in 11 Kickstarters and jumping into Team Yankee! 😉
Oh yes … i know that feeling …. There should be a public warning that comes with this site . Damn them and their contagious enthusiasm.
Great video. That looked really interesting, very tempted now.
Lots of ideas brewing for 40’s sci-fi terrain. Destroy and rebuild with knobs on.
Interested to see if I could use my DUST models with this ruleset.
Does not look to be far from what Bolt Action is, ruleswise. What I really like about it is the chance of reacting to opposing fire by shooting back and drawing your opponent into a firefight. Might we see this in BA version 2? Would really add to the the game and its tactics I think. Great video as always.
Nice looking game.. Can’t get my head round the Sherman though.. Weird world war… hmm love the idea of Nazi Zombies -why do we love killing Nazi Zombies so much? Oh yeah, that’s right..because Nazis suck and so do Zombies..Double Suck!!
I like what I see….
Nazis, zombies, cool tanks and walkers. Lots of fun. I have some undead american paras that I need to photograph and post here. Neat minis, wish I could remember who made them!
Can’t wait to Play!
Want to see the Soviets come out .
another good video
Are the Konflikt rules a kind of preview of the BA 2.0 ruleset as well ?
The reaction shot sounds like a new feature for BA …
This game had me at Nazi Zombies. The urge to throw them randomly into a Zombicide game is very palpable.
This is the first Weird World War game that I’ve ever considered looking into – probably just because of the Bolt Action pedigree.
Think that I’ll be keeping an eye on the videos!
There are a lot of great Weird War 2 manufacturers out there. One of my favorites is West Wind http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/ . Nice folks, great miniatures.
Also check out http://www.whattheminiatures.com/ . I really like the undead paratroopers. (Disclaimer – I have my painted figs in their gallery at http://www.whattheminiatures.com/gallery.html .)
I was skeptical but it looks a larf. Can’t wait to see what comes along to “weird up” my Brits.
Geat Battle report, it”s got me interested especially with it being built on Bolt Action.
Honestly cant get enough of this game! The more content i see the better selling points i have of getting the guys at the shop into this and bolt action
great job fellas, looks a lot of fun.
beasts of war content Monday to Friday ,its the future. hope you guys have the time staff and money to do more like this in the future
scifi night
historical night
fantasy night
or
rpg & dungeon crawl night ( warren has his eye on this one me thinks)
wargame night
board game night
card game night
I can dream
Great battle report… Those American elite troops are insane….
great picture classiccolt45
Love the idea of this expansion to bolt action, a game that is already great.
Think I’m going to get my self a lot of these zombies and create a “Survive” scenario. I’ll try my Germans, British and Americans and see who can last the longest against the horde. Maybe have a small unit lost behind enemy lines that is swarmed by zombies, taking up a defensive position in say a farmhouse and see how many turns they can last.
Or maybe after a number of turns a walker squadron turns up to mow down the creatures.
I am sure the gallant British will win!!
Damb it i want both Konflikt 47 and Bolt Action 2
What wizzzardy is this prizes again.
I really like that zippy Spinne panzermech! Good game!
Warlord has really hit it out of the ballpark with this one. I can’t wait to get stuck in.
Cool, they have added rules from Antares… has recce changed at all? Cuz uhhh it’s kinda broke. Want the Russian stuff!
Great show gents!
K47 has got real atmosphere. Looking forward to it.
@dignity
Well done for knowing your rules seemingly better than Chez!!
And for wrecking the Sherman with your first action 😎
Think I neeeeeeeeeeeeds this 😀
What a great twist on a great game. Gotta get me some HEAVY infantry.
This made me even more happy that I invested in BA. I just got my desert rats and the german Desert corp. Will be adding some weird units in the near future.
Would love some help with that 😉
Nice battle report @dignity and a close game so kudos. You did get a few rules wrong though.
1. Consolidation moves are an Advance, not a D6. This is one of the changes to BA.
2. Multiple mobility kills on a vehicle destroy it. More specifically, the crew abandons it and it’s treated as destroyed.
3. Officers can’t affect morale/orders tests of vehicles unless they are in a transport and then only the transport and other units on the transport.
Not wrong but I think I saw a missed opportunity. When the Pz IV X fired its MG, it could’ve fired its gravity gun at the Coyote too.
Another thing that’s not wrong but needs more clarity. When a unit does a Stand & Shoot reaction it appears the sequence of events is Stand & Shoot, pins and morale tests, then point blank shooting, then pins and morale tests, then close combat and pins and morale tests.
The rules imply the stand & shoot unit gets two rounds of shooting but it isn’t clear.
Just wondering if American rule for squad base team re-rolling 1st. does that count for a engineer with a squad base flame thrower team?
Flame throwers auto hit so no need for re-rolls. The number of hits, however, is variable.
sorry i mean for the ammo roll. on a 1-2 flamethrower out of ammo
I think the new models look pretty nice and they don’t stick out too badly from the existing bolt action models, which is great!
I’m really looking forward to mixing the weird war elements into my Bolt Action armies.
I have already ordered the rule book and I’m now hoping I can re-use my Dust stuff on this game.
A fun video!
I just received my pre-order today ( Rules, Germans & Americans ) and was leafing through the rules when I noticed this. The video helps explain some of the weird items. Initially not a fan of walkers or mechs – but I’m starting to change my mind :).
Now I have to settle down and start some assembly – unassembled D-Day Firefight from last year; incoming British Starter 1000pt army; Konflikt 47 now! Sigh – more $ to invest!
That was a great fight guy’s Good Job John ,
i really like the look of the American Mech
Great vid guys, I will have to try this game.
Good game guys, looked like a lot of fun! My K-47 book is in the mail 🙂
Another great video guys. Really shows off the game. I appreciate that you guys aren’t afraid to say, “Wait, how does that go?” and stop and check the rulebook.
Bring on the weird world War soviets!
Man I can wait for the Soviets to come out. I love the sound of the bears they will get.
Looks great, moding my WW2 stuff as we speak!
Hi guys, great video, really got me thinking about getting involved. It was interesting watching John warm to the idea of K’47 as the game progressed and by the end he seemed sold on it. I like the idea of an alternative history, the ‘what if’ concept. I rarely play historical wargaming because my history knowledge isn’t that great. With this you get to create history your way, it’s very cool 🙂
…..Want so much….and @dignity Did not Lost!!!!!…..Good going Justin!!!!!
I think german zombies would probably moan ‘Hiiiiirn’….
This is honestly the first WWII game where the allies have the cooler stuff 🙁
I kind of hope the germans have a rocket that releases a glider/parachute rig with a mech or four powered armor troops all back to back as a crazy BEYOND PARATROOPERS thing.
I have some Dust stuff and would very much like to mix that with Konflikt ’47, SoTTR/Incursion, Northstar’s Projekt X, AE WWII, various Reaper Chronoscope stuff, some Mantic zombies/ghouls, some old’ hacked up SPESS MUHREENS, old Steel Legion IG metals, and whatever else looks good. Like 1/48 Tamiya kits.
I’d probably play bits and pieces of all that with some goofy homebrew-polluted version of Nuts! from Two Hour Wargames.
I think I like the idea of several failing Hitler’s in different universes contacting some elder being and all the realities mix so you have five or six versions of the US and Russia fighting the undead and five or six versions of the Wehrmacht in a constantly shifting mist covered no-mans land where all the wounded realities mix. Then have a full company of AT-43 UNA troops come in as German Bundeswehr laser troops with a couple of mechs and some APC’s like LAV’s from OUR future who investigate some weird signals thought to be some kind of neonazi uprising and get trapped in the multidimensional mess due to CERN doing something weird with a new collider. So you have futuristic German troops trying to ally with the past dimensional variations of the Allies and lend their more advanced tech (some of which no longer works due to lack of satellites) to the war which oddly doesn’t touch their timeline at WW2 but in 2115 or something like that.
Anyway it’d be fun.
The wierdness makes me interested in WWII
this looks awesome! can’t wait to see what they do with the Brits! love the fact that the models i’ve got for BA is valid for this
Now I can pay some attention to BA! This twist has really caught my interest!
Im going into this game Big Time!
My friend have already preordered the US one and I need the german counterpart. Gesus…I hunger to see this battlereport but Im at work so cant do! Loved the 2-parter Wayne did about BoltAction with Alessio as judge and looking foreward to see this. Hopefully we get insights to the rules about these new weird contraptions!
Makes me want to get the new starter sets and start getting bolt action and Konflict going in my household
The launch of this has shifted me from my previous hobby projects back into my Bolt Action stuff. Working on some conversions using some of the Dust stuff that has been…well…collecting dust (har har har).
Hoping to post some pictures later in the painting forums.
Nice batrep, unlucky roll against the gravity gun…
Does anyone think we should be using the same terrain as bolt action or would there be different terrain used. I suppose if this rift is giving advances to military gear normal everyday life would have advanced a bit. Like cars, trains, buildings, etc.
War does advance technology, but it usually takes 5 or 10 years for civilians to see the benefit of it. Where it is only a year or two after the rifts appear, I’d guess that all the new tech is still exclusively sunk into frontline battle units. But as always YMMV (Your multiverse may vary). 😉
Really enjoyed that!
Outstanding video. I have been debating weather or not I wanted to get into this. Once again your unbound enthusiasm has swayed me 🙂
It will be nice to add some varity to WW2 games.
And to get a few friends in who always thought it was too weird to play that era.
I absolutely LOVE this. I really like Bolt Action, but this takes that game to a whole new area. New look, new units, new way to play. Wow am I looking forward to trying this out!
I’m really excited for this, I love how it mixes the historical with the weird. Its the one thing that slowed me from getting into dust, I wanted to bring Tigers and Panthers but didn’t seem rules for them were common.
I really want to get my hands on a copy of the rulebook to see how much DUST I can reuse in this game…
I had time to watch this all the way to the end today – I like it. The reaction option does play with your opponent’s mind as it raises all sorts of possibilities.
I would like to see this played with a mixture of Weird and Conventional items, just to see how the likes of a Tiger would fare against a Tesla Sherman (and vice-versa).
There have been a few ‘weird war’ type games out but none ever appealed. But as an existing Bolt Actin player, I find this version extremely interesting. Pretty sure this will be on the shopping list. Good report which only makes the game more attractive!
Would have loved to see what the Tesla Tank could have done, the zombies tough rule is fantastic and that little spider mech is super fast. Killing those heavy infantry will require a ton of fire, not looking forward to facing those. But it was a good game, Justin definitely had the luck this game
Great video, everything is better when it is a bit weird….
Great demo game really highlighted what I love about Boltaction the way games constantly swing back and forth and are very rarely one sided
Great to see some action from Kon47! This game and its background sound awesome! Can’t wait to get my copy of the book!
Just when you thought Bolt Action couldn’t get any better!!!
I like the fire fight rule. If that doesn’t appear in Bolt Action 2 I reckon my club will house rule it
Nice familiar game with some extra rules. I was watching with one of my daughters and we both began mimicking a giant walker tearing apart a tank and crushing the crew, so I can foresee some great cinematic moments :).
Looking forward to getting my hands on some Germans to give this a whirl.
Great game guys!
That German spider mech looks awesome!
I don’t know the plan for the soviet, but what they need are werebears heavy infantry.
Really like what I see, having bought a bolt action starter set and a russian unit I would like to have a weird wwII set as well to expand my gaming.
Looks interesting and has benefit of being able to semi work with existing bolt action minis.
So looking and it seems the stuff I like is for Soviets not a faction I have in bolt action – but werebears….
I like it, except the zombies. But what the heck. It’s on my purchase list now.
BA second edition plus this makes me a happy guy.
will def be getting into this to expand on BA, germans FTW.
Seems like good fun. Like the walkers.
Would love to try this… Was a big Dust player wonder if this will fill the spot
This looks awesome. Can’t wait to try it out.
Good job on the video. I was initially completely unconvinced by the models, but the chance to see the game in motion and see how the models worked within the framework of the game has changed my mind.
This has definitely become the Weird World War game for me. With the added benefit of it basically being a 2 for 1 game opportunity. By helping my friends build up Konflikt 47 armies, we’ll also have Bolt Action armies at no extra (minis) expense. And I might actually be able to talk them into playing historical WWII for the first time.
Really don’t know whether to take this up or carry on with Dust
Can’t wait to see what the Japanese theme is, I’m hoping godzilla and tank transformers
I always wanted to see dust do more in the Pacific, looks like now I can start on ny own mecha pearl harbour
Turn 2 may have turned out differently if Justin remembered his Zombies cause Horror on his own troops. In turn 1, looks like he moved an infantry unit and small walker within the 6″ horror range.
Good review! Love the game play vids.
Man, I was so sad when the tesla tank died! That gravity gun is a lot of fun!
Love the weird war special units, they add something different in.
I was hoping the German Fieldprojector was a energy shield of some sort. But in the end the game looks just as fun as Bolt Action with some extra toys. And since things is ‘Weird’ the game makes it so easy to just add things from my collection to fill things out. Steel Legion to the front!
I really loved the 15mm soviet HI but i more love the 28mm version.
Nice coincidence i just startet german too.
Yay John gets to play in a battle report.Happy days….
John seemed so excited even with a weird war game……and then Justin blows his nice new Sherman up oh wow the look on his face….. He was not a happy man.
What an awesome battle report, I really enjoyed that and I now need Konflikt 47 rules and some of these new mechs to add to my Bolt Action……Warlord is on to a winner here !!!
WWW is my favourite setting, great to have another ruleset!
incredibly tempted…
Great. Realy pleased to find this. The Bolt Action video was such a pleasure to watch, and this is a great way to see what’s different in K47.
Watching now. Curious as I am a huge DUST fan.
Goodness me. This looks bloody good! Fun! Yes .. Count me in.
i’ve heard loads of good things about bolt action – but tbh, i’ve never looked twice at any historical gaming as has always seemed just a bit too rooted in the boring and mundane world of having to be faithful to the source material.
but now that warlord are throwing a bit of weirdness into the mix, it is starting to get very appealing! bizarre troop variants, and some seriously fruitloop technology… i’ve def gotta get me a german force and play against the guys with regular bolt action forces at my local club.
dying to see the russian forces. really hope they push the weirdness aspect of the system to the max 😀
Looks so good. USA walkers facing off against tides of German zombies? Sign me up! Plus the winged creature in the rules has me wondering what next
Really like the new reaction ability.
Choose how weird you go amazing. Two games in one. I’m in
Looking good on the video. Looks like an interesting concept. More money to spend. Too many miniatures to buy. 🙂
Oh my God! What happened to Chez!? Aaaah no beard….
Great new twist with Bolt Action. Have watched several gameplay videos and it looks fun. Want to play it now!
This was great. The new sets look great.
I just saw the new heavy German troops online and they look like the bad guys from the Killzone computer games. 🙂
My son likes the German spider mech light walker, as do I.
I love painting zombies so the German Totenkorps would be fun.
Fun times.
Awesome. Can’t wait for the British range to be released. For some reason I’m thinking captain Nemo from the league of extraordinary gentleman, complete with “weird war” elephant, for a commonwealth themed force!
I’ve been thinking about Bolt Action and have really been on the fence about jumping in, but with Konflikt-47 I’m probably going to make the plunge. I went and ordered the rule book from my FLGS yesterday.
I just finished reading the entire rule book, I love all the weird entries in the main book and all the additional faction special rules. Kind of makes me want to collect multiple armies although I will start with adding a Grizzly to my existing US force. I am hoping that it won’t be long before we see the army books for all the factions including an Allies book and an Axis book to cover all the minor countries involved in the war.
Looking forward to trying this out in the near future.
Konflict 47 sounds great. Hope they release British and Russian starter boxes soon
These game is like Crack once you get a taste of it you can quick
Can’t wait to see what else comes rolling out for this.
Can’t wait to get going on this. Hopefully I’ll roll like Justin’s 666 number of the beast rolling!
Book ordered….already have Bolt Action and those walkers are sexy, I play British but I am going to get a US walker or 5 regardless
Looking forward to the full line of minis coming out. This could be a good break from serious historical stuff.
Ok has anyone else noticed that Konflikt47 seems to be using the base rules of Bolt Action version 1 and with the new book coming out next month why would they just not set it up to promote their new version?
I have had the book for only a handful of hours but I am not seeing any of the new stuff everyone is talking about.
Has anyone else seen this?
